I'm one of the few that thought Lamb was holding ya'll back.
Granted he had a pretty high floor, but your offense had a ceiling that couldn't be broken through with him at the helm.
Personally I agree, I was never really on the Lamb hype train but I didn't feel like arguing it with people on here because I prefer to mainly just read what the fan bases are thinking and all rather then take part unless a trend of thought really gets me enthused to input. If you ask my family and friends though I always considered Lamb to be an AJ McCaron type in that he was a game manager, he didn't lose us games but he didn't win them either, I'm excited by the prospect he could be a great coach and could come back as another Satt type but that's all, Thomas is kind of a Lamb 2.0 in that he has some physical characteristics that enhance his game but also is nearly as intelligent with the ball.

I think what you said reflects my feeling on Lamb as well. He DID have a ceiling and most pragmatic App fans knew that. It was high enough to win quite a bit more than lose so we really couldn’t have asked for a better transition to FBS QB. Zac is a big reason that we have improved as much as we have, and then the full roster of well recruited talent in the 3 deep.
One thing I’m seeing pretty consistently over the last three years or so is it takes our OL about half a season to gel enough to run the ball the way we want to. If there is any critical issue I see in 2018 is that I’m not sure we are quite there yet on the OL to establish the run first which is really what we want to do. Zac is good enough to use the pass to set up the run and our receivers are just excellent this year. But I know we really want to see better first down run production.

I agree, i think but may be wrong that most of what we keep losing to graduation is either dline or oline which is a fix that happens over time due to how much teamwork is involved, putting a new rb in isnt too hard because he just has to have skill, a new player on the line has to develop a synergy with the rest of the line rather then just be skilled which is why it seems most years like we ramp up

Oh I agree. It’s definitely the new players on the OL growing together as a unit. We’re just not there quite yet. Good news about this weird schedule is that we have some time to adjust to the loss of Moore and scheme to the strengths of the other RB’s.

Yea i was thinking how glad i was that we got some less impressive teams between every good one to kind of have a ramp up effect beforehand

Held us back & didn't win games? There are a lot of coaches around that would dispute that.

Apparently voters were unimpressed with App’s win. Got passed by San Diego State and Duke.

Seriously? Duke beat a horrible GT team, and could be wrong, but I don’t believe SD state played.

Unpopular opinion but i think Marcus Williams is every bit as talented as Jalin. Speed, agility, power, and vision.

Yeah I don't agree with that. I think he's very solid but I don't agree that he has the same power and aggressiveness as Jalin. I do think Cam Peoples is the RB of the future and has the potential to be better than Jalin next year. Hoping he gets a chance to play the last few games.

Peoples is a type of back physically we have never had at APP, agree that next yr he should be the featured back, but we will have to wait and see.

RE: Finally: App State at Arkansas State on Tuesday, Oct 9
Jalin got his chance when Marcus went down, so maybe we'll see the same with Williams. He's been impressive in a limited number of carries and I'm excited to see how he responds. Evans and Hicks are very explosive, but not physically strong enough to be a workhorse. If Harrington comes back at the full speed and with the addition of Peoples we should be in great shape going forward. Don't want to put too high of expectations on Peoples, but our staff thinks he's an SEC caliber back. Of course Jalin is too...
