Then why did they sit there in crummy shape for so long?

What was said was insulting to the fans of every shool for all the great work, planning, and fund raising done over the years by all the schools. To think USA, that doesn't even have a stadium, influenced hundreds of millions of dollars in improvements is nuts.

Sometimes the truth can be painful. Some of you people shouldn’t wear your feelings on your sleeves or find yourselves a safe place.

Wow! This thing will be up there with TXST and Troy and maybe slightly better. Gawga State’s not bad at all.
Coastal’s Brooks is also a real nice stadium.

Congratulations! It will be a yes vote. I am concerned however, that the yes vote will set free a monster within the SBC that may bite all of us in a few years. Regardless, USA deserves the on campus stadium and all the fun that comes with it.

USA's football facility building set off a bit of an arms race in the SBC when they opened in 2008. I imagine this stadium could do something similar, but it seems several programs are already working on improving their stadiums already.

I'm all for you but don't get the big head. Your football facility did not set off any kind of an arms race and your stadium won't either. But it will be nice for you and help your program and the conference. Now go and enjoy your celebration.

ASU coaches saw the facilities and refused to practice for the GoDaddy Bowl in it so their players wouldn’t see it. So the MAC team used it.

You do know that AState had an interim for the first three appearances and had its own facility under construction for the fourth.

I promise. The $sixty million plus State has invested in just the past few years in our stadium had nothing to do with your football facility. I'm doubtful the expansions of Ga. Southern, UL, Coastal, Texas State or that underway by App had anything to do with your facility. Troy? maybe a little.

The first drawing of the tower was before we had ever played Georgia Southern, App or Coastal. I heard Troy mentioned like once and I suspect that was because Troy was down at that point.

Can you find the answer to why Arkansas State refused to use our facilities during bowl practice? We rolled out the carpet for you guys and your coaches decided to use UMS-Wright High School instead.

Because we had an interim (who was not retained), a staff that was more than half volunteer coaches (some retired coaches, some high school coaches), and an AD who would be fired within the next 8 months.

We have a Irish pub accross the street from USA, right where Picklefish used to be. Downtown to USA campus is 30 minutes. most of the roads are big enough. It wouldn't hurt to make Cody wider. Old Shell road east of University needs to be wider than 2 lanes. I'm guessing they will drive traffic to go down airport blvd, hillcrest, schillingers. Old Shell west of University is 5 lane. It will be interesting to see the traffic maps for gameday once released.

Because the interest of USA aren't as important to me, as my interests as a fan. DUH.

- The stadium can be expanded to 32k and 40k easily. The concourse is really wide for that purpose.
- The press box can be expanded to the 20 to 20 or end zone to end zone and add a 5th level to it.
- This design took the best parts of 5 stadiums we visited and combined them into one stadium. Those stadiums are Colorado State, Tulane, UCF, SMU, and FAU.
- The field would be artificial turf.
- $0 will come from students. No tuition increases or fees on students.

Looks great! I see a lot of FAU's stadium in this concept.

Very nice! but very shortsighted to not include a track around the field in my view. :-)

That's a good one.

Best thing that happened to AState was the early 70's recession, we eliminated the track from the original design to save money.

That would be shortSIGHTED. Right? Anyhow, schools are eliminating tracks around their football fields for a reason. It brings their fans closer to the action. As is why South did it this way. No shortSIGHTEDness here, right.

Yes a bit of a jolly rejoinder on my part, I do say, though with a small typographical error I did not catch.

Though it would be interesting to be short sided and have one side of the field only be 49 yards long.
