Every single common sense factor: the coaching staff doesn't think they are that good but fighting against the expectation and standard set by brown

He was frantically offering players in May, no one who is satisfied with their roster is frantically offering numbers players in may

No one who thinks they are making the tourney makes this kind of schedule...the ONLY good game is rivalry game that is played every year .. meaning they didn't actively find any good games in the quad 1 range

According to ponystark (and other smu fans) smu is bringing in numerous NBA Calibur/All-league type players and been hyping up their next team .. and the smu administration wrote an apology letter for the bad season and said it would be much better next season

I watched 1 of the major impact new players in Italy last week, and do not bad, no where close to the hype

My opinion- there is an extremely high standard at smu, that the fans and administration at smu demand...smu likely won't be at that standard next season ....the staff knows it and telling the fans and administration what they want to hear... And put a schedule together to window dress it... "We got 20 wins" "the committee left us out, despite our guady record. Not our fault"

But that's my opinion, not saying it's a fact or anything
i agree..but i dont get why SMU fan's have extremely high standards all of a sudden. You guys haven't been good for that long lol. Im mean i understand being upset by this year, any fan base would. But come on man.
Because all realistic SMU fans know basketball is the only major sport we will ever compete in at the highest level moving forward. Football is never going to happen again.

Lately in basketball several things are trending in the wrong direction and it is not sitting well with the knowledgeable fans. Jank is on thin ice and losing a lot of support.

Do you think Jank has the Tubby syndrome - a good "x & o" guy, but woeful in all other aspects of coaching?

Not good when the fans turn on a coach. He gets this season then all bets are off

They had 3 good seasons after missing the tourney for 20+ years and now they have an "extremely high standard" lol

That is a bad schedule, particularly at home. Are the other Big 12 schools refusing to schedule the Ponies?

Jank won’t try. A&M and tcu are the only ones that will play us.

Jank is not a good head coach. As known by everyone at North Texas. As known by everyone in the Missouri Valley. As known by everyone except for SMU fans and the administration. The fans are learning. Administration always lags behind by a couple years. They’ll figure it out eventually.

That is awful.

its not great.

It is not murderous row, but it is not horrible either. TCU and Penn St should be good and Georgetown should bring RPI help since they are in the BE. Lipscomb made the NCAA Tourney last year and will be favored to enter again next March.
Penn state will not be good, and Lipscomb didn't even win the ASun regular season. This is trash start to finish.

That SMU is embarrassing....

Literally smu’s metrics will be a drag on the league heading into conference. Imagine if they drop 2 or 3 they aren’t supposed to and don’t beat tcu. Then, they might as well be USF but the numbers will make them look bad.

The AAC needs to step up and doing something about ooc.

i think we can cut them a break...they have done so much for the league. They helped keep it a float, While us and Memphis struggled. They get a break in my opinion. Memphis and us will be better. So i dont think it will really impact the aac at all, or as much as you think it will.

Zero breaks for a league trying to be a real power conference. Everyone is accountable

I agree with that. Even ECU is aware of the issues and are being told to get on board.

Lipscomb’s RPI was 105 last season and they should be better next season. Last season, Penn St’s earned a #47 RPI rating. They may drop off, but Big Ten membership alone should raise their profile.

I know it is not a great or even good schedule, but I think the poorness of the schedule has been exaggerated. Of course, the only opinion that matters are those held by SMU fans.
