NFL is crazy how they drafted QBs this year: four within the first 10 picks plus one more at the end of the 1st round.

A couple mid-rounders plus a few late in the draft. Think I counted only 11 QBs drafted.

Seems like there are essentially two categories: blue chippers and 'prospects' and most prospects are getting drafted late or UDFAs.

One could argue that a 7 round draft is too few. Each team needs to replenish more than 7 players per season so that means a lot of UDFAs are needed to fill roster spots. I think the draft should be 10 or 12 rounds.

Bucaneers really seem to like EMU. Bailey, Roback, Cole last year, and OC there now after the Lions. Brogan had to settle for a tryout, Bailey got signed within 5 mins after draft ended.

Brogan a super longshot now unless he just wows in the tryout. The arm is there, he'll just have to be accurate without throwing picks. The dream still alive.

Bailey is now the sleeper with a chance. Came up the hard way via Juco, and represented EMU very well. Would be a great story if he somehow made the roster, or even practice squad.

Will have to hope he gets a good grade and scouting for the tryout to somehow get on a practice team this Fall.

Brogan in rookie minicamp with Ravens this week, and same with Buccaneers next week. Only need 1 chance to make a great impression.

Best wishes to your son. I don't live in the midwest but I met your son (and maybe you, very, very briefly at a home game Brogan's senior year in HIGH school). Think Brogan and Awlford (sp) the TE from Ind were sitting in section I guess 103 and I might have noticed a varsity jacket or something.

I like to make plenty of jokes and have actually been blocked by Roback on twitter for calling him "Jay cutler jr" too many times but in all honesty Roback is AT WORST the third best quarterback in program history - as high a floor as anyone could hope to have. dude was a necessary part dragging this program to respectability and replacing him is no easy task.

I truly believe that EMU will have a tremendous year in 2018. The two people most responsible for that are Chris Creighton and yes Brogan Roback. Without Brogan we don't go to a bowl game in 2016. Without Brogan Sergio Bailey is not all MAC and does not get a try out in the NFL. Brogan's influence on the program and his contribution to others careers will be felt for a long time. Please thank him for us.

Ditto that - the improvements at EMU FB over the past four years don't happen without Brogan - he will always be one of the greats! All he needs now is a chance to show his skills

I kind of follow the NFL draft, mostly from the Lions' perspective.

My take away is that Mayfield is not a tall as a NFL QB or even as a P5 QB. That effects someone like Glass, who, also, is not tall.

Sounds like Roback would be a candidate for the development squad. Tough to beat our either Mayfield (obviously!!) or Taylor, but would compete with Stanton as a 'budget bargain' 3rd QB???
