Yeah, that stinks. With Rudolph falling that far, Steelers had to pull the trigger.

I don't see Roback being drafted. I've seen some listings ranking players by position. There might be say 10 - 15 (max?) QBs selected and Roback isn't ranked that high (by the lists I've seen).

I'm not even sure the top rated MAC QB, Woodside, gets drafted.

It will be a bad draft for MAC players this year. Say a half dozen???

We have a tendency to think that everyone is going to be drafted in the 7th round. The 7th round has a lot of picks but not THAT many picks.

I told you guys he wasn't getting drafted! Lots of QB's have strong arms, you have to have accuracy and STRONG leadership skillz to make it at the next level...also helps if you can run a sub 5.0 40.

To stay consistent with my assessment, take heart. Josh Allen is going to be a bust at Buffalo. He has a strong arm but is inaccurate and that is going to derail his NFL stardom aspirations. Allen is pretty athletic and that is something unfortunately Brogan doesn't bring to the table.

The problem at QB is that there aren't many drafted each year. Simply based on position characteristics, there will be 2x as many DEs, for example, as QBs.

I'd be curious the number of say DEs or OTs drafted compared to number of Qbs drafted this year.

Very bad draft year for the MAC this year. So far I count a grand total of four and they are in the 7th round now: WMU (2), CMU (1), Ohio (1).

Bad year for the B1G QBs, I think. I QB picked. Think in the 6th round.

MAC needs to win some preseason and bowl games.

WMU will have a nice match up with UofM to prove how good they are. Looking at their football thread, WMU feels they're the class of the MAC. WMU rated EMU the easiest MAC opponent on their schedule.

WMU will lose to Michigan by 40 now that Patterson is eligible. WMU's defense is garbage, basically lost everybody in their front seven.

Forget Michigan, the Broncos will lose to Syracuse to open the season. Put your $$$$ on the Orange.

Good for him. Word is, he came back for his Pro Day, after training for 3 months, a changed man. Bigger, faster, stronger, quicker.

Bronco fans tend to live in a fantasy world. They somehow think that they are nationally relevant because they had a great season in 2016. As much as I hope for the Mac schools to beat the big 10 schools, I kind of hope that the Western fans get their ass handed to them.

Is it me, but did the SEC own the NFL draft? It just seemed to me although I didn't look at data.

Yes, SEC had 53 players drafted. Alabama led the way with 12. MAC was next to last with 5. Big Ten had 32.

No, rated EMU, the MAC game most likely to win. Other Conference games with teams that would be similar are on the road. Road games are usually tough.

Thanks. And the Lions drafted SEC #1, 2, and 4 in a draft where they drafted only 6 players.

These things tend to run in 'cycles' or hit and miss. The MAC was very strong at the 2107 draft and very weak this time.

It did seem to me that NFL GMs decided 'when in doubt, go with players from the blue chip schools.' Maybe a bit surprising considering how strong the MAC draft class was in 2017 (I wouldn't mind my team drafting Davis, Hunt, Golliday, Roberts, etc.). Detroit ("Motor City MACsters") Lions.

And while we are talking about the MAC, SEC 52 vs. B1G 32 is a HUGE difference.

I don't know the numbers but it seemed as if Ohio State had the majority of the Big 10 picks, once again. The Big 10 numbers must be heavily skewed towards OSU, Penn State, and maybe a few U-M...what about the lower tier Big 10 teams; Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois, Rutgers, Maryland? Anyone drafting from those teams?

Rockets had 5 FA's signings besides Woodside going in the 7th round. The All MAC teams had a number of younger players, some of the better ones in the Conference. Expecting an increase in the # of MAC players drafted in the next few NFL Drafts.

My unofficial answer:

Round one (4)
OSU 2
PSU, Maryland

Round two (5)
Iowa 2
OSU, PSU, Rutgers

Round three (3)
OSU 2
Michigan, *Western Michigan

Round Four (7)
PSU 2
Indiana, OSU, Iowa, Wisconsin, MSU

Round Five (6)
Wisconsin 2
Michigan, Purdue, PSU, Maryland, *Central Michigan, *Western Michigan

Round Six (5)
PSU, Indiana, Nebraska, Rutgers, Wisconsin

Round Seven (2)
Wisconsin, Northwestern, *Ohio Bobcats, *Toledo

Takeaways: OSU had 5 picks in first 3 rounds.
Western Michigan did just as well as Michigan and better than MSU.

Wow, IL did not have a player drafted? They tied with Wayne State... 03-lmfao

Seriously we can see how good (and well respected SEC FB is). 56 out of 256 draft choices is over 20%.

You can also argue that PJ Fleck went from a more talented team (WMU) to a less talented one (Minnesota). Will he be able to recruit top caliber Big 10 talent at Minnesota?
