We have score. We have to be better than our average on offense.

RE: Game Thread: No. 2 Cincinnati vs. No. 7 Nevada
Not gonna lie, couldn't sleep last night thinking about this game. Woke up around 4 or 5 and started working on some projects around the house, my wife woke up like WTF is wrong with you lol.

Then had a Zen moment... and reminded myself it's just a stupid game. So I can now comfortably say I'm calm and cool, and actually comfortable that these guys will take care of business. But if not, Spring is just around the corner and time to start working on the yard and the kids baseball league. Too much to worry about and look forward to, than to get down about a basketball game.

Anyway, I will be glued from 6 to 8, with some minor twitching until I know our boys have secured victory. Let's go Cats!

Old one hopefully discussed next week...Loyola not being called on blatant traveling call in closing seconds of regulation costing us a 3rd National Title in 1963.

RE: Game Thread: No. 2 Cincinnati vs. No. 7 Nevada
Here are some more numbers on Nevada to consider. The 7 teams they've lost to this year ranked by Live RPI with Kenpom ranking in bold...

23 @ Texas Tech 13 (48 AdjO/4 AdjD)
26 N Texas Christian 23 (11 AdjO/99 AdjD)
62 @ SDSU 48 (76 AdjO/33 AdjD)
62 N SDSU 48 (76 AdjO/33 AdjD)
98 @ Wyoming 118 (159 AdjO/53 AdjD)
134 UNLV 107 (64 AdjO/174 AdjD)
139 N San Francisco 149 (218 AdjO/89 AdjD)

The highest ranked teams they've beaten this year...

19 Rhode Island 51 (67 AdjO/44 AdjD)
47 Davidson 44 (16 AdjO/120 AdjD)
50 Boise State 59 (81 AdjO/48 AdjD)
50 @ Boise State 59 (81 AdjO/48 AdjD)
85 Illinois State 147 (162 AdjO/137 AdjD)
98 Wyoming 118 (159 AdjO/53 AdjD)
103 @ Fresno State 78 (83 AdjO/73AdjD)
118 New Mexico 105 (49 AdjO/208 AdjD)

Rhode Island was their biggest home win and Boise St. the best road win. None of the top teams they beat have comparable KenPom numbers to Cincinnati. Texas Tech has the closest and Nevada lost to them (albeit on the road).

Dr. 92 has extended office hours today if you need further consultation.

I keep thinking of the great attention we will get next week as the media digs up the history of the 1963 championship game and young people get introduced to the fact that UC has won national championships.

I know it will likely be close for awhile, but I am feeling a BIG win today. Jacob Evans goes off for 20 type of win.

I agree. We've witnessed a lot of heartbreaks the past decade with several teams that have Cincinnati lettering on their jerseys.

I fear an X type shooting performance from Nevada. I'm hoping for a team that had their one shining moment against Texas and gives UC a surprisingly easy victory. There always seem to be those tournament games where the wheels fall off for an opponent and what looks like a tough out becomes a bit of a romp. In '92 I recall UC won close against UTEP before blowing out Memphis in the regional final. Odds are, UC is overdue to see that after very tough grinders out of SMU, Memphis, UH and Georgia State.

We'll all take the one point win. But I'll open my victory Rhinegeist a little earlier if UC is up 20 with four minutes to go. Isn't that a pleasant thought? Go 'Cats!

I (we will all) drink to that! And yes, I think the storyline about Cincy vs. Loyola would be a lot of fun this coming week and enlighten many on the historic greatness of Bearcat basketball.

Roll these guys, beat Loyola, beat Kentucky, beat UNC, beat Villanova, send a couple kids to the league and call it a year.
A wish list.
