CINCINNATI – Season ticket sales are trending near record levels for the return of University of Cincinnati men's basketball to newly renovated Fifth Third Arena in 2018-19 following a month-long seat selection process in June.

With less than four months remaining before the reopening of the 29-year old facility in November, an estimated 76 percent of the arena's 12,012 seats have been sold for the coming season leaving only three of 12 pricing points and approximately 2,000 seats remaining.

Fans can still secure their seats by placing a $50 per seat season ticket deposit at GoBearcats.com/tickets or by calling 1-877-CATS-TIX. The season ticket deposit deadline is Friday, July 27. The athletics ticket office will contact these season ticket deposit holders during the week of August 13 to select their seats.

A limited number of seats remain in the Incline (sections 208-212 & 220-224), Upper Sideline (sections 202-206 & 214-218) and Bearcats Lair (sections 201-207 & 213-219) areas of the arena.

New arena, same coach, I passed on returning.

Considering the level of donor rankings I saw for the prime seating in the lower bowl, I doubt he would have gotten the mid court seats back he claimed he once had anyway.

I'll start by saying I hope it sells out for the season. That would be the first time in a long time and it's a great story about the UC program and fan support.

With that said, this release would suggest 9,129 seats are "sold out" (76% of 12,012) and I'm wondering if that figure includes all student seats with the assumption that those are indeed reserved and not for sale?

Really excited. I have the best seats I've ever had this year. Looking forward to a great season.

I had seen somewhere else that there's roughly 2,000 seats remaining.. do we know how large the student sections will be? 9,100 seats sold plus 2,000 remaining puts us at 11,100. I figure there's more than 1,000 student tickets.

One thing I will miss about old 5/3rd is the elevated student sections...always liked that look for some reason.

I seem to remember 1,500 student seats historically, but I can't verify that.

Excitement about ticket sales to date is justified. I say sell out the season...and see if even that generates a headline @ Cincinnat.com. Outdrawing brand x on a nightly basis and for season attendance is part of restoring the rightful pecking order in this town. Go Bearcats!

July 25, 2018 Update

I realize I've lived a sheltered life, but... how does a curved video board work?

If you're on the side, do you only get to see half of the screen? Or does it split up the image for both directions to see?

I hope so! UC needs to incorporate the notches into their signature somehow.

I heard UA was going to unveil a new 'notch motif' to replace the old triangle uniform motif.
