All he does is hammer balls over the wall at like, the most opportune times.
Hey USA, just start pitching around this cat. It ain't worth it.
I cant blame the pitcher, we struck him out 3 times in a row and had an 0-2 count. Just a slightly misplaced ball and he took advantage of it. But yeah, I agree, I wish we would have walked him.
Yep that's my point, he waited to pounce in the biggest moment of the game. What a jerk for making you guys think he'd strikeout every at bat. Total dick move.
That damn guy.

You guys get to look forward to us throwing Jason Bilous tomorrow. His stuff is perhaps the best we've ever had in a pitcher. He does struggle at times with location, but he tops out at about 99, though lately he seems content to throw about 96 in favor of control. We have been following him up with Beckwith lately--our multiple arm angle pitcher. Going from a 96+ fast ball to a submariner... Good luck.
IMO, our best pitcher is on the mound tomorrow. He's not a high velocity guy, but he is a lefty with good movement.
Our hitters usually like fastballs, not sure what was up tonight. Anyone in our lineup is capable of putting them over the wall. I look forward to another good game.
Your hitting is no joke so if we are seeing your best pitcher tomorrow then we could be in trouble. CCUStudent had a good description of the pitchers you'll likely see tomorrow but I'm not as confident. When they are on they are great but both have struggled at times. So with your hitting and better pitching we could get down big, early.
Great game today, here's to a great series.

RE: Baseball weekend 4/13-4/15
So the question in the ULM-TXST game is did the ULM runner purposefully step on our first baseman's ankle in the 9th?
Not saying he did, I have no idea, but what's the protocol if someone purposefully injures a player like that? Suspension I guess? Would the league get involved?
No idea how serious the injury is either. I guess we'll find out in about 7 hours if Newman is healthy enough to start tonight or not. He sure wasn't putting much weight on the ankle being helped off the field last night though and it didn't look good.

The League has the right to take action if they believe it is necessary, but it's almost impossible to prove intent in those situations.

Gunner Leger is a man among boys. Pretty sure other teams hate him as much as we hate Woody. ERA down to 0.95 after the cajuns 8-0 victory

If I'm not mistaken, Leger is giving up less than 6 hits per game.

If Leger keeps it up he's a lock. AC is pitching well overall but gives up too many long balls..

RE: Baseball weekend 4/13-4/15
Another good one in Mobile. Coastal pitching struggled early and USA took advantage. USA pitching struggled in the top of the 6th and Coastal plated 4 runs to take a 7-5 lead. USA loads the bases in the bottom of the 6th, but a terrific defensive play in the outfield by Coastal prevents USA from scoring a couple runs to tie it up.
7-5 Coastal after 6.

The good thing for today for App is that they didn't want to use Howell, but then had to, and he only three 22 pitches and got six outs, five of those K's.

Jesus Christ!!!! Billy Cooke just had the play of the game on that diving catch with bases loaded. Billy has some wheels. That saved the game. We'd be down a run had that ball dropped.
