Ohio State has to play Michigan, and I think anyone Could lose to Michigan. So I wouldn't say it is Going to be OSU vs Alabama. Plus, throw in Clemson, and you have a "I have no idea" situation.

Quote:I know they haven't played many great teams, but how about E Michigan at 4-1 ???

And Northern Illinois at 1-4! I would have said you're high if you told me in pre-season that's where we'd be at this point - lol.

My Top 4 (which I'm sure is the same for everyone):
- Houston
- Boise State
- Western Michigan
- Air Force

It'd be nice to see 3 undefeated G5s at the end of the year being 13-0. Would DEFINITELY help the cause for a REAL playoff.

I think that South Florida is better than every school on that list except Houston.

Then they should have beaten Florida State, instead of getting hammered by them.

They will get to make a case if they win out and meet Houston in the CCG.

FSU exposed us for what we probably are: An upper-echelon G5 team this year. But nothing more than that. We have a tough road to win our division, and only a small chance to beat Houston should we play them.

We're a good team, but just not worthy of being mentioned as ranked one. 30ish to 40ish in the country.

AAC now has five 1 loss teams - USF in the East and Houston, Navy, Tulsa, and Memphis in the West.

MAC - W Mich is battling with NIU right now, E Michigan is no slouch his year and Toledo waiting for their crack at WMU the last week of regular season.

MWC - Boise looking good, but call me crazy: I think they're going to have a heck of a time at Wyoming. Granted, I'm biased for former NDSU head coach at Wyoming.

Wyoming may finally have their stuff together again huh? I see that that they completed the front range sweep. That's huge!

Boise has the bullseye on their back now. If they slip vs Wyoming or SDSU (MWC CCG).....watch out for Western Michigan.
Cheers!

if the season ended right now, the AAC champ would be either Temple (bad loss to Army, good loss to State Penn) or Navy (bad loss to Air Force).

Boise would have the access bowl slot over the Toledo/WMich winner.

That would be terrible. Navy is the obvious choice.

Navy has some tough games ahead. I hope they beat ND...Army is very weird this year. Either Awful or above average. Depends on which Army team shows up vs Navy. Could be interesting and if things fall the right way, Army Navy outcome could impact all of college football.
Cheers!

If they don't beat us this year they should be no where near the access bowl.

Have to disagree. WMU going undefeated will get picked over Navy. People have tried to use the Marshall argument which is not applicable. WMU did play to Big 10 teams and won. We can argue if they were "quality" games but unlike Marshal who had no P5 and FCS, the committee will not ding WMU on their schedule. Also, I doubt the CFP wants to deal with having to wait another week due to the Army/Navy game. That game really needs to be moved to another prime slot. I like the idea of opening the season with that game or have that game OTA prime time on Veteran's Day.

The computer ratings going into this weekend had WMU #9 in the country with one rating as high as #2. Boise State was #11 in the computers before the results of this weekend.

Navy was #32 in the computers entering this week. They are way down there in terms of the access bowl discussion.

Both teams that Western Michigan beat from the Big 10 are the bottom rung of the Big 10. Washington State is top of the heap, and Oregon State middle of the pack in PAC 12.

Northwestern is mid-pack B1G.

Computers have favored WMU slightly over Boise State.

Overall the MAC is tied with close to tied with MWC.

AAC 62.52
MWC 81.96
MAC 84.96
SBC 90.20
CUSA 96.11

There isn't a real SOS edge for the MWC over the MAC this year. MWC might be below the MAC next week following Boise's loss.

I call your Big 10/PAC 12 and raise you a loss by Boise to Wyoming, who took 3ots to beat NIU and lost to EMU (two teams from the MAC).

With that said, there's still over a month football to be played before the G5 access berth is decided.
