#5 Louisville - Orange
#6 Washington - Rose
#7 Wisconsin -Rose

#9 OU - Sugar

#10 Colorado - Cotton?

#15 Auburn - Sugar

# 20 Boise - Cotton

Yes, if the NY6 were set right now, the matchups would be:

#1 Alabama vs #4 Clemson
#2 OhioSt vs #3 Michigan

Orange: #5 UL vs #8 Penn State
Rose: #7 Wisky vs #6 Washington
Sugar: #9 OK vs #15 Auburn
Cotton: #10 Colorado vs #20 Boise

Boring matchups outside the playoffs, IMO.

Lets assume that Alabama and Clemson win out. Also Washington for this exercise...

Let's look at the Michigan/Ohio St game and the impact that it's going to have....

IF Michigan wins, then wins Big Ten title game
#1 Alabama vs #4 Washington
#2 Michigan vs #3 Clemson
Orange- Louisville vs Ohio St
Rose- Penn St vs Colorado
Sugar- Oklahoma vs Auburn
Cotton Wisconsin vs Boise

If Ohio St wins, I think Big Ten champ gets in at #4 over Washington....
#1 Alabama vs #4 Wisconsin/Penn St
#2 Clemson vs #3 Ohio St
Orange- Louisville vs Wisconsin/Penn St loser
Rose Michigan vs Washington
Sugar Oklahoma vs Auburn
Cotton Colorado vs Boise

If Alabama wins out, then that means they would beat Auburn so it would be unlikely Auburn would remain the highest ranked available SEC team for the Sugar Bowl. LSU would be next in line should they win out.

Also, IMO, Florida controls its own destiny not only for the Sugar Bowl but for the playoffs. If Florida wins out, they would have to beat #16 LSU on the road, #17 FSU on the road, and then #1 Alabama in the SEC title game.

That would vault them past Louisville, and past any 2-loss B1G champ, into the playoffs. The SEC not the B1G would have two in the playoffs. We don't take that seriously because i think everyone - myself included - regards Florida as a paper gator unlikely to win any of those games much less all three.

But if ...

LSU though has 2 tough games left with Florida and Texas A&M. Tennessee may have a shot as long as they don't go to SEC title game. It's an interesting race, as all teams may take a loss. So Auburn may not be in bad shape, as their loss is as good as it gets.

Those may seem boring matchups, in terms of teams on the field.

But that's not what brings viewers and sells tickets/hotels/air. That's the program strength.

Well it could get worse. Boise can't go if they don't win their division.

No, they don't control their own destiny. But if Wyoming slips and Boise finishes 12-1...I think the committee has made it clear who they want in the Cotton Bowl already by ranking them the highest ranked G5 team. An undefeated WMU won't get it over a one loss Boise unless the committee suddenly changes their mind and reverses the rankings of Boise and WMU. Wyoming needs to win out for WMU to get it. I'm not even sure an unbeaten WMU gets in over a 12-1 SDSU or an 11-2 Navy.
Cheers!

W Mich's game against NW was in week 1. NW was barely the same team as it is now. And they still only won by one point.

So, if that game was seen as a loss, then I think Boise's overall record is better, given that Wyoming is a good team this year.

And they haven't even blown out every pillowcase they've played. They came within a whisker of losing to Virginia. Heck, they are down 9 to Wake Forest at the half.

Quo, Come on...."schedule gets softer from here on out" "down the stretch they play cupcakes"--? They have 2 games left. 1 is against Houston. At Houston. That will be a very good win for the Cards if they can pull it off....
Cheers!

Houston is what, like in 4th place in the AAC?

Not the ACC, the AAC?

With a win against the best team in the Big 12.

Cheers!

... and got routed by SMU. That's right, SMU.

Nobody is going to be convinced that a win over the 4th place AAC team means anything at all.

BUMP. When I read Quo saying nice things about Houston after they beat Louisville it made my blood boil. HERE ^ is what Quo was saying about Houston a couple days ago. Read the exchange for proof.
Cheers!

How is Boise on top when they don't control their own destiny?

Just wait. It's Saturday for pete's sake.

Let's see if Wyoming can beat SD St in Laramie. It's going to be a cold one. Let's see how that affects SD St. They laid an egg in Mobile!

It's worth noting that San Diego St has not yet beaten an FBS team with a winning record. This week (Wyoming) could be their only chance for such a win before the CCG, for which they have already clinched a berth.

You are right...WMU is in if they win their game vs Toledo and the MACCG. Boise has to hope New Mexico can beat Wyoming and I'm assuming Wyoming is at least a 7 point favorite.
Cheers!

RE: Access Bowl/playoff spot ratings
Interesting MACtion games tonight.

- Ohio fighting to win the East, Akron fighting to get bowl eligible, game at Ohio
- Miami OH, as crazy as it is with them starting 0-6, fighting to get bowl eligible AND win the East, game at Miami (vs Ball St, which can't do anything except be spoiler)
- C Mich vs E Mich, both are already bowl eligible, both fighting to go 7-5 instead of 6-6, game at E Mich

Rooting for Ohio and E Mich tonight!
