RE: Brazilians Begging For Money
South Korea should have beaten Germany yesterday - Germany got a lucky free kick in stoppage time to get a 3-3 tie. That's a really tough group with Germany, Mexico and South Korea, so the South Korea-Mexico game probably determines the 2nd quarterfinalist (along with Germany).

I actually wish basketball would go to this under-23 format too, to make things more interesting (guess my Socialism tendencies are showing yet again). USA would still dominate probably, but hell if Team USA is going to spend the entire Olympics on a luxury cruise liner docked on the water anyway, what's the point of even being in Rio.

IIRC the Olympic competition is between under-23 teams, augmented by up to two more senior players per team. The objective is keep the World Cup as the primary international competition with the Olympics as number two. FIFA likes to protect those TV and sponsorship dollars.

Thanks for the explanation, it makes more sense. Was wondering why the f Naymar is really the only established star in the field.

I dated an Ecuadorian, work with a Peruvian, Columbians and I have a very good Chilean friend. They have nice cultures but their govts tend to be extremely corrupt for some reason and very Socialist leaning. There is a reason we use the term "Banana Republic".

You just describe our govt as well. Truth be told, the govt's are similar in that regard, those down south just prefer to hash it all out in public.

Not on the same level as many in South America, not even close. Chile would be the exception.

It's all relative. I just figure the corruption locally is very well hidden and we accept it when it is exposed. Down in South America when stuff is exposed the proverbial sh!t hits the fan and there tire burning in the streets, etc.

Don't forget the Copa America was this summer as well. Barcelona would not allow Neymar to play both the Copa and Olympics so Neymar chose to play the Olympics because that is the only event Brazil has never won. So, it's basically Neymar playing with lots of younger players and so far it isn't working out so well.

LOL at the United States being very clean. Winners do write the history books, that is for certain. Just because you don't openly see ethnic genocides and obviously oppressive laws doesn't mean the US is clean as a government.

I don't believe these studies. It's always the Anglican countries that have the least corruption. We all know that Crooked Hillary is corrupt and going to rig this election.
