When will schools like WKU Marshall and MTSU agree to a home-home with us? You guys have way more in common with us than some of the bottom feeder dogs in CUSA.

03-lmfao ummmm, no....I think not.

As much as I would love to be back in a conference with ECU, Memphis, Houston, etc., they would not invite us, unfortunately.

We take props and the AAC doesn't allow for that. And frankly, our athletic budget just doesn't mesh with the conference. It's just not big enough. Talent-wise I think we'd be competitive for the most part, but what the AAC has in budgets and what the other G5 conferences have is vastly different.

We don't need a 13th or 14th member...simple as that...Army and BYU have open football only invites (their other sports are happy in the WCC and Patriot leagues) if you aren't one of them, there is no need to apply.

The poster already said "they would not invite us, unfortunately". So why was your "no need to apply" 05-stirthepot even necessary.

The meep meeps haven't proven anything. Well, except for how to take a beating.

We actually went 7-5 in 2013 .Couldn't go go a bowl game cause of the rules. We will be better. Trust me. I'll come back and bump this thread.

I was just bustin' your chops a bit. 04-cheers I hope you guys are better. We need all of our teams to be better.

Well, we already have scheduled with App and I think our administration is trying to steer away from multiple G5 OOC games against the same conference after our recent scheduling of multiple MAC teams. Nothing at all against the MAC.

Perhaps after our series with App is over. Who knows?

Yes, about 5k are allocated for that promotion. However, not sure if the full 5k is use by that promotion in the attendance. But, hey anytime you put real people in the stands is a big bonus that adds to the game atmosphere. Not to mention that even if the ticket is from a promotion, they purchase concessions once they are there.

No lie... I'm fairly certain we don't. At least not one that is heavily promoted.

I still say the KFC was a good idea overall.

1. It reached out to the general community to build some kind of relationship.
2. They were new, and it helped get more butts in the seats.
3. It offered a great joke about Fried RoadRunners.
4. It worked. Assuming those 5k in seats weren't going to be filled by season ticket holders (which I know they aren't... they aren't at capacity now, so there's room to grow still), if they are able to gain... just 10 season tickets holders per year from it, it'd be a positive investment. And I gotta imagine at least 2-3 families decided to grab season tickets, even if it was just for ONE of their marquee games.

Hogwash.

If you're not doing them then your athletic marketing guys are getting paid to do nothing.

even in the "pony express" days when smu was pretty good, they would give out thousands of tickets on game day at 7-11's all around the area..still only had crowds in the 30k's tho.

It's a proven winning strategy. The UTSA KFC promotion was based in the legendary U of Miami Burger King promotion in the the late 1970's. It gets poo pooed by athletic marketing types who think they are geniuses but whose own strategies result in average attendance of 16k

People have a tendency to get too proud of a program too quick. I think that happened in basketball for us. It isn't too high for me, but for the casual fan who you want to win over, $15+ for GA is too much to have a bench seat. It should be locked in at $10 until attendance is over 2500 a game. $5 more bucks you can get Hawks tickets from their box office or you can get Hawks tickets off StubHub for $10 - $15 bucks. GT Basketball I can get for $10 to Wake or Clemson.
