If you're a UNCW fan you're no doubt a huge of fan of college sports. The defacto choice in football in NC is generally going to be UNC or NCSU. The split allegiances are going to create a common enemy. In almost all these cases over the years the common enemy is ECU.

It's the same reason App St fans hate ECU and Charlotte to a lesser extent. I don't really care, but it only makes sense.

It is semi self defeating when it's the NCSU's and UNC's of the world that have tried to make UNCW's of the world irrelevant with their power 5 nonsense.

I actually like UNCW and think our rivalry is a good thing. But do think a lot of the hate on your side stems from the fact you double down on the hate w/your ACC affiliations.

Yeah, no. I have no allegiance to the any team in the ACC and hate UNC about as much as i do ECU. Maybe it's a small sample size but i work with about 30 ECU grads and every single one is UNC hoops and ECU football

LOL I don't blame them, being an ECU basketball fan is nothing short mentally disturbing. But seriously at some point we're going to have to give our fans something to pull for. That means success in March. I do think every league game being on ESPN's networks will get our alumni more familiar and invested with our team.

In college I pull for nc state,clemson,Alabama, Penn state. Pro green Bay,and panthers

We are 9-6 against NCSU over the last 15 meetings dating back to 1983 and most of those played in Raleigh. If they don't consider us a rival they need to step their effing game up.

I didn't agree with it, stupid firing imo. Either way we've done well against the ACC.
