Yes. Avoid the Bersin slide into second to field a punt. (Anyone who watched the Panthers versus Cardinals Wild Card game will know what i'm referring to.)

RE: App State @ Clemson
Even though I haven't seen Clemson play, I think Appalachian State will keep it respectable. Anything within 18 points will earn my thanks.

Of the 4 games scheduled against P5 teams this week, I think stAte can also keep it close.

We really need a statement game from somebody after last week's bloodbath and I think stAte and App have the better chances to do that this week.

Of course the hope, and something that would still probably not create a blip in ESPN's coverage of conferences, is for Arky State, App, and GaSo to all take care of business.

After week one and all of last season, my head says 0-3.

Yo Coastal fans, how do you guys deal with Clemson folks? I've never seen a more ridiculous group of Walmart fans. Make UNC folks seem tolerable.

I've always steered clear of most of the Clemson crowd, upon investigating further I agree with this assessment. They are a loud Walmart bunch, no idea what is actually going on, only they are gonna wipe the floor with everyone.

Not only is their site not user friendly at all, but seems like Ga South fans with less brain cells. No offense Eagle fans.

I really want to see Shaedon Meadors ball out against the team down the road from his home that passed him up

Technically they didn't fully pass on him, they showed interest late in the recruiting process after a few of their initial WR commits went elsewhere. Kudos to Meadors for honoring his commitment to play at App.

If we can have success running the ball we may be able to wear them down some. Their DL lost 7 out of 8 off last years 2 deep. So while the guys back have some experience their backups have none. Their LB are similar. Cox, Upshaw, Moore, and Boyd need to pound them early. If that can get goi g the passing game will open up. Meadors is good enough to beat anyone deep one on one.

It's worth mentioning Clemson plays Louisville next Thursday. No matter how hard Clemson's staff tries to get their players to take the Mountaineers seriously these are young kids who know they were higher recruited than any player on App's team. I like that the press has been asking a lot of questions about Louisville. I will be shocked if we get run out of the stadium. I won't be if we keep it under two scores.

They are way more tolerable than the university of South Carolina fighting male genitalia.

Clemson has actually been a good partner with Coastal both academically and athletically. Granted, just like any of the G5's in any state want to beat their in state P5's, we enjoy beating clemson. We have done it multiple times in both baseball and basketball (beat them by like 25 or more in basketball when they came to Conway to play us).

But as a general fanbase, you should find them significantly more tolerable than SCar fans.

Unfortunately, Coastal has to contend with fans that have dual fandom with one of those other 2 schools. I'll never understand that, and we've discussed it extensively on our board. Heck, we even have closet SCar fans in our fanbase, and that school and its alumni base in Columbia politics have tried to keep Coastal held down as an institution ever since we became independent again in 1993. But that's a whole other can of worms.

Living in South Carolina, this has been my experience too. Gamecock fans have traditionally been very delusional and they are the "walmart" fans in this state, for the most part. All the Clemson people I met at baseball games have been extremely kind about Georgia Southern. Your average Clemson fan is also a LOT more football knowledgeable than your average UGA or South Carolina fan. That's for sure.

Clemson people are definitely very super-sensitive about their program being insulted, but I actually don't see that as a negative. People are naturally going to stand up for something they care a lot about. And Clemson fans really care about their program, their school and their town. I get the idea that most Gamecock fans are casual, and spend more time hating Clemson than caring about the culture of their own program.

The big knock on Clemson is that they have been a lot more mediocre over the years than they realize. They have always acted like they SHOULD be considered an elite program that is waiting to get back to their glory days. Yeah they have a national championship, but they didn't do anything before that, and they have been second rate since the 1980's.

But they are good lately. Even though Dabo is a childish coach, he has some impressive results over the last 5 years.

RE: App State @ Clemson
Usually when people begin to get defensive, there is some truth behind what is upsetting them. Given how many Clemson people actually responded negatively to that article, I'd say there was a lot of general truths in there. A blog post really is a petty thing to get that upset over.

I'll be in the land of light blue tomorrow night for the UNC/NC A&T game but not to watch UNC. I have a kid that plays Left Guard for A&T and I'm going to see him. I'll be wearing my ECU hat there, but I feel like I will need to burn the rest of my clothes when I get home though.

Their fans are probably really friendly in real life but they are huge tools on message boards.
