It is beautiful stadium on a beautiful campus. Enjoy the scenery, because it could be a long ballgame.
Clemson 38-13, but I hope not.

RE: App State @ Clemson
Heart - App is able to run better than most expect and the defense turns them over twice and we stay within 10.

Head - App starts slow and gets down two scores early, stays even for quarters two and three and then Clemson out scores App by 10 in the 4th to win by 24.

RE: App State @ Clemson
IF App can control the time of possession utilizing short passing game and mixture of Cox and Upshaw, I see a barn burner heading into the 4th quarter. Our kicking game and special teams is light years ahead of where we were this time last season. Our defense looks like they are in mid season form.
September games bring some funny bounces at times and App has definitely been on the blessed end of lots of those bounces over the years.
I think that we have a chance.04-cheers

And my black and gold heart right next to my normal heart says we are going to freaking destroy them... but there's a reason I don't listen to that one

I mean, there's going to be a lot of talent on the field. A veteran offense and a stout defense. I don't see how that veteran offense can be stopped. Clemson might keep it close, but in the end I see the Mountaineers going away.

If we can put together some sustained drives and get their starting defense tired that would be huge because they are young and their 2 deep lacks experience.

Big IF.

If we can force some 3 and outs on the defensive side of the ball I like our chances to keep the game around the spread line.

Even bigger IF.

I think they will likely score twice as many points as us.

Looking forward to my first trip to Death Valley. Been watching college football for 40 years.

I think the players will leave it all on the field as it will be an emotional game, especially for the defense. The Human Highlight Real will have to make some more highlights and keep Clemson from stacking 8 in the box. If we keep it close through the first 3, I think Clemson chokes, which they have a history of doing, and we take this one by 3.

I'm not saying it will happen, but nobody expected us to take down Michigan in the Big House.

Anything can happen and I believe this team could do it after watching what they did at the end of last season. One thing that is extremely important for us is keeping our heads on straight at all times. Even if we're down, they have to play like they're winning and not let the scoreboard get them down. This is a David v. Goliath story and who knows what the outcome will be, but I have faith in the Mountaineers and, if the stars align, I think we could walk out with a W.

RE: App State @ Clemson
hate to say it, but I think we are setting ourselves up for a letdown, hope Im wrong, we are talented, but not on the Clemson level, I would disappointed if its a blowout, or we didn't make it a game late into the 3rd, but this Clemson team is going to score a lot of points on almost every team they play this year, including FSU. Keep it respectable, show we belong on the same field as Clemson, put alittle scare in them, make the faithful uncomfortable for a half, and I'm happy.

I hate Clemson worse than I hate Appy, which is saying something. Therefore, I really hope Appy sticks it to those orange clowns from the Upstate. GATA ....

To App: you guys have a history of beating big shots on their home turf. Do it again.

One thing no one is mentioning. Clemson returns only three starters from their top ranked defense. This defense and last years defense are as different as the App defense today and the App defense that was run over by Montana two years ago.

You know how one hit wonders will often get tired of their hit because it's the only thing ever talked about when they're brought up? I'm starting to feel that way about the Michigan win. Don't get me wrong, we wouldn't be where we are now without it, and it's caused me tremendous joy throughout the years, but I'd be more than okay if it was never mentioned again.

its more to prove that loses (wins) can happen and "scrub" teams should be approached with seriousness

Oh I know, I wasn't really referring to you. And in that circumstance it's always something good to bring up.
I was more just referring to whenever we're brought up in the general population, that's what is brought up.

RE: App State @ Clemson
I think the biggest thing no one has mentioned is how has playing a full FBS schedule affected the way App will perform in this game. Before, going up against bigger, faster, and stronger guys in the trenches was almost like a shell shock. This year, after ending the year going against ULL (who had the best defensive front four in the Sun Belt) and being able to pretty much impose their will on them, they should be better prepared to not have a period of acclimation to the speed and strength of the Clemson front.

Minimize three and outs, convert on third down, don't commit any unsportsmanlike penalties, and Marcus Cox needs to tuck the ball.

Agree Eric... I might add, no blocked punts, or special teams mistakes.
