Again, just a reminder, you are basically saying the same thing everyone said about App State before you were added.
Generally, no one believes an incoming FCS school can compete in terms of facilities, attendance, and competitive football until they surprise someone and do. See Georgia Southern and App being picked 7-8 last season, with predictions of terrible attendance. And neither of you have the Olympic Sports credibility that Coastal does.
Lots of different arguments brought up against a valid point concerning only football attendance. App averaged 25k a year the three years prior to announcing, big difference there.

App St and Ga So were much more ahead of the game attendance wise than we (EKU) are at the moment. I will say the So Con schedule was much more attractive at the FCS level than the OVCs. Our numbers will probably not be great this year. Playing two Thursday night games against so-so opponents (Valpo and Peay). No JSU or EIU on home schedule this year. TSU is homecoming.
The big out of conference draw games at home since 2000 have been JSU, WKU and Coastal.

Valpo is Pioneer League (non-scholarship), and Austin Pea is well Austin Pea. Nothing to get excited about there either.

A lot of salty elitism in this thread from programs that would likely get beat by Coastal Carolina.

1. I am happy with the add. Nice away trip destination.
2. However, to compare CCU football program to GS or App is laughable. GS and App have been arguably the #1 and #2 programs in FCS since 1985 so come on, man.
3. Really funny hearing the fledging upstarts GSU and USA turn their collective noses up at CCU.
Carry on.
Hey now! Not all GSU fans are against Coastal. I was one of the first to throw out MO St, UTC, and Coastal. This is a decision that may last decades and we need to strike now. I would love NM St, MO St, and JMU to come on board. Since that's not happening, bring on NM St, CCU, EKU!

The second Thursday night game is Tennessee Tech not Austin Peay

C'mon now, I think USA has done a good job. Arguably one the best of the start up programs with ODU and UTSA in the conversation.

Nmsu will be added. EKU and CC are not ready yet for FBS. FCOA, for these schools probably is a high hurdle to overcome for now.

It's the sibling thing... We'll beat each other up all day long, but man... someone from another conference throws out a line like that? Sheesh, watch out!
I'm not in favor of CCU, but not because a) I don't think they are ready (who really is?) or b) they are FCS (so were we).
I'm against them because
- They are in the wrong part of the country
- THAT FIELD!
- The name, man... and the mascot.
But if that's the vote, then I say "welcome to FBS and the Sun Belt, CCU".

+1...you dont think those schools were thinking the same thing when USA came on board? Also love the call out to Samford, i'd take a school with a football HISTORY over one that just started within the last decade...dude you guys started in 2009. Come on now
LOL. All hail USA...the perennial world beaters! Coastal is in a MUCH better position than USA at the same point in time.
Not unless Moglia writes a check for 500 million to CCU's endowment, and CC gets a bunch of alumni and some grad schools.
I don't know what you're complaining about USA. Quickest team to get a bowl berth in history. No one, I repeat, no one has done it quicker.
