What the hell? Is that just playing the greyshirt game?

A couple of ours are accepting greyshirts.

Plus if you have any from the previous season. I think one of our mid year guys counts towards last years class.

The Cajuns lost two big time players in Marcus Keyes OL (Ok St) and Tristen Decoud CB (Oregon St.). But we picked up Rico Robinson OL/DL, who is Ledaruis Green's younger brother.

247 has 5 guys listed that did not sign with us. One was dropped months ago for non-athletic reasons, one is a walk on who is already on campus and was never offered, a couple were not going to make it academically so they were not signed. 247 is a great site but they do not update or do a lot of homework. None of those 5 were ranked above 2 stars.

Then ya'll are solidly in 2nd place. Your numbers won't change enough to make a difference if you lose 5 2-stars.

It seems like more of a DB flipping to a WR than a choice of school flip. He wanted to play receiver and that opportunity was with you guys.

Still a lot of saltiness over on the MMB.

GS has WRs? That must have been quite the pitch!

Congrats everyone. App's class on average is rated the same as last years class and based upon the average ratings per 24/7 is the 8th best class in the SBC. That means everyone did better this year.

Eh. There was saltiness over losing that DB to Syracuse a few days ago. Overall our class is great. After years of what seemed to me to be classes that were heavy in skill positions, we have a big boy-heavy class this year.

We're excited for a very deep and consistent squad for years to come.

We will drop like a rock if Dexter does not sign and flips to UNC, I believe he is the highest rated kid. The others did not have a huge impact. The two kids that were not on our list will help once they get their composite rating but not enough to make up for Dexter.

We should only drop about 3 points, and that was with a conservative estimate for Hallback who could potentially be a 3 star.

Without them rated we should only drop ~4 points.

You are correct. Did the math earlier before the class was updated on 247. In any case, the blow will be softened by getting those guys rated.

If we can add Colburn, we'll still be really close to the score we have now.

247 already has it calculated without Carter included. Still in 3rd place. Once Hallback gets rated that will change for the better, and if Colburn picks us over Wake, it will be a wash.

Carter is still included as a commit, so he's in the calculation.

It should be real close. Our average is going to go up. I think ULL has 13 and we have 12 3 stars on that service.

Good point about the averages, I think ULL is still missing one of their top guys signing. If he comes off the board that should swing their average down a bit and bring ya'll closer.

Things have gone well for NMSU. Will post a list when I can. Supposedly one of our New Aggies will be on ESPNU announce his decision. that was suppose to happen 12:30 MT. Still waiting to see. BTW NMSU went 9 for 9 with the recruits that came in this last weekend.

RE: The official signing day thread!!!!
I'm pretty happy with where GS lands with this class. The thing that I'm happiest about is that we got two big guys with experience that might can help us bridge the gap in O line. Last year's class had some great potential but it's nice to know that they don't all have to step it up next year. With the juco guy (I'm always skeptical except on signing day) and with the kid from UAB who started 20 games on O line, we might have that help we need for a year or two.

The other thing we seem to have gotten is lots of athleticism. A lot of those guys can become whatever they need to become, because they won't all play at WR or QB.

Now, we can hold our breath for three years or so and see who REALLY had a good day today!

Rankings are a mess this year because South has so many UAB kids, who are not re ranked. But of the 4 SBC teams with a league title to their credit, three of them were ranked 1-3.
