QFT

Getting in a pissing contest over this is a bigger waste of time than trying to find the box score to Georgia State's first win over a FBS team.

9 eligible teams but I think 4 teams will have a tough time getting bowl eligible - Troy, GA St., Idaho and NMSU.
That leaves stAte, UL, ULM, TX St. and USA as potential bowl teams.

Will they all make it?
Again, getting way ahead of ourselves here....BUT...The only way I see that GS gets to a bowl is if we win the conference outright, and of course apply for and receive a waiver.

This is the second waiver mention I've seen. There is no such thing unless the number of bowl spots exceeds the number of FBS schools bowl eligible.

didnt Miami petition for a waver because they were only left out because of the championship game? Or was that UCLA?

What part of the rules/regulations for Bowl eligibility do you not grasp?

What do you not grasp about the ncaa granting waivers for unusual situations? :)

In 2012 the ncaa granted Georgia Tech a special waiver that allowed them to play in a bowl game despite having a losing record which the rules do not allow. Perhaps they could do the same for us if we won the conference. Doubtful but possible.

Georgia Tech got that Waiver because they only had to play a 13th game and risk their bowl eligibility because a team that was ineligible for postseason won their division.

UTSA didn't get a Waiver last year...you wont get one this year.

GT wouldn't have even been in the title game if Miami and UNC hadn't been on probation.

Calm down "Mom", it's all speculation. Do you know what that word means?
The NCAA rules aren't speculation.

Yep. Funny how that part keeps getting overlooked.

This. Game was much closer than the score and USA shot themselves in the foot countless times.

Your insane! We are no better than 7th right now. I don't know if you have actually watched any of our games. We are terrible at the moment. Even in the win against Southern we looked like dog poop.

People rating us #1 in the power rating may not realize we lost every statistical category vs. Utah State.

We won Red Zone percentage and points scored. Went 2 of 3 in the Red Zone. Utah State got to the Red Zone one time and didn't score.

Well, that'll teach me to rely on a Utah State news source. We didn't win on turnovers though.

We did have the first 100 yard rusher against them this season and (I believe) the most rushing yardage against them in several games extending into last year.

The biggest category is the W and while I completely respect USA I think Utah St is a better team than USA at least at this point in the season.

No doubt about it the two best teams in this conference reside in the two 'boros, beyond that there is a very noticeable drop off. Accordingly, I expect our team to be obliterated on Thursday night.
