Cluley remains unproven as the real answer at quarterback; certainly not in the league with those fine qbs at Villanova, Richmond, UNH and JMU who beat us this year--and there are some who believe he'll sit if Mosley is back at 100%.

So it behooves us to recruit more.

Cluley is not unproven. He had a very respectable rookie campaign, showed good improvement and good intangibles (leadership, toughness, etc.). He has all the needed physical tools as well. Its ridiculous to compare a sophomore making his first starts to a group of junior and senior starters that all have multiple years of starting experience. The UR and JMU QBs were IA transfers, the VU QB is one of the best in the nation and may be the best to ever play at VU. Cluley doesn't have to be all-American, he just needs to make the type of mental improvements you would expect from a 2nd year starter.

You're about the only one that thinks Mosley is the magical answer at QB just because the OC compared his throwing motion to Michael Vick. There's a lot more to playing QB than arm strength. I hope Mosley gets healthy and is at least able to compete for the job, but I would be pretty surprised if he was the game 1 starter next year. Despite two seasons on campus he's barely taken a snap under center.

Agreed 90. Cluley has proven that in his first year as a starter he can take us to 7-5 and within 1 defensive stop of a playoff birth. He has two more years to play and I can't wait to see how he develops.

Not many skill position/DB/LBs recruits. I wonder how many scholarships we have left.

I'm guessing he's a walk-on.

QB, WR, pass catching TE, really good looking LB and a DB/RB. 5 of 8 known. Probably 5-7 additional.

Coach Brady just "rang the bell" with "305, S Florida", "green swarm." Joe favorited it and he just so happens to live in the 305 area code and plays defense. Just sayin'.

I saw that too, but cannot imagine they want a 1 year rental on a qb that put up marginal numbers at UVA

As a dual-threat QB, 6'2, 4.5 forty, he's athletic enough to move to WR.

Also, he set UVA records his So year...if we have space, why not bring him in, give him 8 months with our playbook, spring game and practices, etc? Do we have someone better should Cluely get hurt?

Watford started at WR for them in last game against the Hokies, but can't imagine he's leaving to go play WR somewhere else.

Beat case scenario he comes in, starts, leads us to Frisco. Worst case he never starts but pushes Cluley in practice. No real downside if this is actually something.

If we are looking for transfers, let's try for DE's and DT's. We are thin there for next year.

RE: 2015 Football Recruiting Thread
Totally speculative, but only known (to me) offer is FS Miles Hayes from Cincinnati. He visited with the group over the weekend and coach Brady usually refers to the dbs/safeties as "birdgang"
