At least he should be used to the crowd size

I don't believe McGee expects him to be the 3rd or 4th string QB.

Myles McKee. Great name for a quarterback.
I know it's a highlight reel, but he made some great throws on the move.

RE: Another New Commit?
I'm not sure that I can tell much from that video. He makes some good throws, but it appears that he mostly has his receiver picked out as the ball is snapped. It also seems like he plays against very soft coverage...recall that UABs soft coverage has made many average QBs look like Heisman candidates
I find this move surprising

I see a QB controversy pre Spring practice and a starter come September.

RE: Another New Commit?
So that puts us with 4 QB's battling for the job in spring/fall camp...1) Brown 2) Perry 3) Briscoe 4) McKee
I would like to think Austin Brown would come out and win the job because he started pretty much all of last year and he knows the offense, reads etc....but because he was SO BAD last year 15 tds 12 ints it is anyones guess. We may have the worst group of QB's (minus So. Miss) in the league.

I honestly hope Briscoe doesn't see the field until 2015. Let him be the starter for his redshirt Sophmore season.

If he's our best guy, I hope he plays this season. I want the best players on the field, don't care about their age, what state their from, what their high position was, etc.
I am not as down on our QB play as a lot of our fans are. I thought Brown did a fine job last year, and I thought Perry did a fine job the year before. I expect us to be as good running the ball this year, and I expect our pass protection to be improved with so many young guys. With most guys having a year under their belt I expect the offense to look much more consistent this year. The big question is if our defense can make any strides. An average defense would probably keep us in most games with the offense I expect to have. I also hope the team finds a way to avoid a slow start to so many guys.

The mental and emotional toll on a Freshman, especially one 800 miles from home, can be taxing. That coupled with the physical beating our quarterbacks take annually make me want to see a year of all around growth before McGee gives him the keys.

Determining the "best guy" is very, very subjective.

I guess(hope) HCGM sees something...
1. Mechanics - good footwork, keeps the football set, eyes down field and has good pronation on his release.
2. Intangibles - good pocket presence, nice touch and placement of the football, good feel for the game, 22 games played since hs.
3. Eye test - 6' 3" 210
The low completion percentage isn't all that alarming all things considered. How good was his line, receivers, and backs?

According to his scout combine, posted earlier in the thread, he was 6-1.5. Must have grown an inch and a half while in college.
What year is this guy? It says he graduated HS in 2009 that would only give him one more year unless he gray shirted or just didn't go to college for a year.

RE: Another New Commit?
Well, a QB controversy is good, and I hope it makes whoever starts a better player!
What some of us forgot about AB, though, is he got hurt (high ankle sprain) during the SELA game and then seriously injured (abdomen/groin/pelvis) against Tulane. Both injuries required off season surgery with the latter being very serious and he’s still not 100%.
My point being:
*First year starter as a Redshirt freshman
*Threw for 2,673 yards
*Conference USA All-Freshman Team
http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2012/...d_to_c.htm
*Ranked #7 nationally (Top 10 Freshman QB’s of 2012)
http://www.rantsports.com/ncaa-football/...2/#slide_5
*Only started 9 game in which he played injured during 8
I think AB is better than most are giving him credit for…
