I think Stache held AB in for pummeling after pummeling as some sadistic way to make him tougher...we'll see if it worked.

From the cited stats, it looks to me like a red-shirt year for Mr McKee in 2013. We have three known quality QBs going through spring practice while McKee is elsewhere. He will provide depth at QB for 2014 though.

Somewhere I read McKee is a 2009 High School grad. I don't think he has a red shirt year to give.

I was going by the "5 years to play 4" with 2 years at JUCO subtracted leaving 3 years to play 2. I may be in error.

If he doesn't have at least 2 years, then McGee should not have gone after him.

I assume one of those is a redshirt season. Also, the Scout profile has him listed as a 2008 HS SR and, via the dropdown menu, a sophomore at Sierra last year.

Ouch, that is troubling. 5 schools in 5 years. UAB will be school number 6 in 6 years.

from what WB has listed, McKee has 2 years to play 2 - no RS year at UAB. If WB's track is correct, McKee will have to play right away in both years or we wasted a scholarship.

i don't see how we wasted a scholarship. He adds depth to a very thin group right now. Even if he never plays it may allow Briscoe the chance to redshirt if needed. i am not sure if anyone knows for sure if JP is staying.

Maybe we should just club him like a baby seal?

I've never seen a guy go from signing to being a wasted scholarship so quickly, that's for damn sure.

Maybe his dad is rich.

We need to win soon before this fan base goes off the deep end.

If he isn't currently enrolled, then I don't believe he can participate in spring drills can he?

If he cannot participate, then he more than likely will not be the opening game starter.

For the record, I think the kid has skills to be a major contributor and maybe even the starter in the Fall. His addition to the program gives us 2 viable backups to our incumbent starter, Austin, and McKee will make a solid push to win the job once he gets to campus. I also like what I perceive from this signing, and that is the Stache could be planning on redshirting Briscoe for 2013.

He seems to have the foot speed of JP, with the live arm Brown has.

Call me cynical but I'll believe it when I see it. I like Austin a lot but I was unhappy about him being left in to get pounded last season. I like JP and feel he could have made a difference in some games. I want to see UAB win just as much as anyone and want the best players on the field but I really questioned some of the personnel decisions last season. QB was one of them. I hope McGee has a little more self reflection and less stubbornness going into his sophomore season.
