They have a while to pick #14 anyway since Navy is not budging. But I wonder if certain networks wanna know who #14 is before an agreement is signed? Pretty sure any network wants to know future plans but replacements in case of deflections. The Big East may be forced to show who #14 is.

So we're striving to be the MAC? One more school means more content, which means more money. A team like Fresno means more access to California, two rivalry games that have some regional interest, another strong team from a conference we are competing with for that access bowl bid, stability for our western fb only members and an increase in quality OOC games to sell to our tv partners.

Not to mention adding Fresno sweets the deal for the Big West and could possibly lower some of the cost the Big East owes the Big West with Boise States admission.

A conference having 13 teams, in itself, does not make it the MAC. The SEC was going to do it before they decided to invite Missouri.

Well that's disappointing. If it is true that BYU and AF are off the table I can't imagine that they discussion will get past Fresno State. That should at least make SDSU happy.

Honestly, I would be ok with Fresno State over both AF & BYU. BYU is a headache you really don't want to have to deal with. If they want to join the BE... Fine, just no special concessions that any other team in the conference would not get. They think they are the ND of the west, LOL!, and will probably stay independent to the detriment of their football program (they won't settle for anything but the power 4 conferences). I certainly would prefer Fresno State over Air Force... It's not even close.

Funny how now posters are saying let Navy retract after the fact. Just goes to show how clueless and haphazard we went about this expansion... "No more Cuse... let's add Memphis of all schools"... "let's add Navy without securing the other academies"... nothing but ill-advised, premature additions with no vision and creativity.

I like how the BE was eyeing all these schools in the Big 12 and perhaps BC and Maryland even, with no consideration whatsoever for any mid-majors, and once the roof fell off, we basically added everybody.

I can't blame Aresco obviously. Hard to see why he would take this job. God bless him, even though I am not religious at all.

The play here was AFA, Army, and Navy. That was the only play to secure national recognition and respect. You don't bring one in and expect to have any value. You take the holistic approach and bring in all three. But greed once again foils that notion.

Then we add SDSU after AFA/BYU shut us down initially and totally deface any semblance of an identity this conference may have had going forward.

It is going to ****ing disgust me if we do not land BYU or AFA.
