RE: Week 3 Power Rankings
Not a bad week for the Belt.
1. WKU - Played well against Alabama, beat Kentucky
2. ULM - Arkansas game looking less impressive, tough OT loss
3. UNT - Although largely ignored by Belt fans, playing as well as any Belt team so far
4. FIU - Will compete for Belt title
5. ASU - Brutal schedule, but MTSU handled Memphis easier
6. ULL - Horrible game anyway you spin it
7. Troy - Great crowd, statistically dominated but lose, turnovers kill
8. MTSU - Good victory, starting to climb back
9. FAU - It will be worse this week
10. USA - It will get a lot better

I have no problem with # 1 and # 2 or for that matter # 6]; but no team who has yet to win a game against FBS competition is #3, no matter how good they looked losing. UNT will continue to be ignored by SBC fans until they actually beat someone with a pulse. This week they get Troy. Win that one and you will get some respect; lose it, and you will still be UNT from last year.

Actually, I would quarrel over #6. 1-0 in conference must count for something more regardless of how bad an OOC game looked (BTW, I don't see anyone spinning the loss either, so Grandgreen needs to get his biases in check)

RE: Week 3 Power Rankings
I would keep the Cajuns at #3 until proven different in conference competition. And none of us are disagreeing that last week was horrible. The FIU game should tell a lot about what kind of season the Cajuns will have in the long run. Right now I would put NT #4. Then FIU, ASU and Troy. Hopefully we have at least 4 teams bowl eligible this year!

Lord, every year, some SBC team or teams does something good in the pre-season and everyone carries on like the pre-season really matters.
It does not, and unless that team that did something good is namd Troy, they will most likely fall by the wayside in conference play.

And these rankings are after week 3; not 8, 9, or 10. Lighten up Alice!

What was the ULL/OSU an immoral loss? If there is any team's fans that should not talk about playing the power teams, it is ULL.

immoral loss? wtf are you talking about? It was a huge beat down. You know what? at the end of the day it means zip, nada, 0. We are 2-1 heading into conference play.

Correct. Last time I checked, they don't give you a trophy for upsetting a ranked opponent.
All OOC wins do is help toward bowl eligibility (on that count we are 1-1).

No, UL has a win over an FBS program. But it would be almost immoral to have your only win be over a terrible SWAC program like Texas Southern and attempt to run lame smack. No moral victories for the Cajuns.
