New SBC member coming soon.
In my Bowling Green newspaper today, the president of WKU, Gary Ransdell was quoted as saying "there will be one more realignment move in the Sun Belt and that should be announced before the end of the month".
Question is who is in their radar. Obviously they know who it is by now.

He also said it would help with our "media demographics". That means Dallas/Fort Worth.....which means UTA.
So no need to get in a tizzy....it's UTA.

Also, we're not going to add "one more" all sports. We need one more non-football to even it all out right now. All signs point to UTA.

Didn't we already know about UTA? Has it not been announced by the conference?

Then it can't be us....no one turns on a TV to watch us. They just all come to the game instead and fill up the hill and such.....

It will be UTA. They are the only option on the board that has anything to do with "media demographics".

I heard Benson mention that he like the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, they get 20 hour days part of the year, so they would fit perfectly in the Sun Belt.
I'm so tired of this garbage.

I think its going to be a full member, with football. If you read the article it sounds like a football member, But at the same time it does sound like a Larger market school they are talking about.

Wouldn't UTA put the Belt at 10 & 12 ? Give a 2nd non-football school to augment UALR.

Pretty much, and they give Texas State another instate team for olympic sports. The only way they dont come is if they decide to go back to the Southland, which I dont see, because the SBC offers them the opportunity to start football when ready.

Oh I don't know, I think App State is one of those programs folks like to pull for. Yall are the eternal underdog, and Americans love an underdog. I think if App got in to the Sun Belt it would peak the public's interest and we would see more eyeballs watching Sun Belt football. App State has name recognition thanks to the Michigan upset and the fact the program is the top FCS team in the country.
Personally, I seek out Mountaineer games on TV. A lot of Saturdays I turn on my xbox360 and access the espn3.com app so I can watch more games. I like to watch the App State games when there isn't a Sun Belt game on at the time. The video coverage is generally pretty lousy because it is FCS football, but I watch it nevertheless.
I see App State and Troy to be very similar. We're both big dawgs in "small ponds." People within our own circles like to hate on us, but those outside our peer groups like to pull for us because we're small and have been able to build powerhouse programs through nothing more than hard work and determination. I'm a Trojan, a Trojan who admires the Mountaineers.

UTA has never been officially announced(I'm pretty sure). They're still in the 'keep quiet even though everyone knows about it' mode

This would be the thoughts of a TRUE college football fan. I find common ground with everything you have said here, I will pull for most underdogs b/c nothing compares to the excitement that follows when something folks think is just truely remarkable happens. I will watch The Citadel vs South Carolina just for the chance the Bulldogs pull it off, I will tune in and stay there to watch JMU beat VA Tech......think back on how those players looked on both sides that afternoon. That is true passion, screw the markets, screw the facilities and concession stands, lets just push for good football!
