This is an add I'm looking forward to. I was kind of hoping we stayed at 10 for the time being. If we add Appy, then we need another to keep it even. NMSU in the West? As discussed before, GS isn't ready monetarily to compete in the FBS. I have no doubt they will be, but for now they have to bust their asses to get their financials in order.

No joke. That thing is almost impossible to read. Not as bad as ULM's old board used to be...but its pretty bad.

Keep in mind this is only a rumor. What ive heard is that the SBC presidents do indeed want to go to 12, and that App State is #1 on the list.

That doesnt mean anything for certain, but Im guessing that App would not turn down an invite.

As for Southern, I have heard no such rumors. Though I admit they make sense with App.

Out of the realistic expansion options for the SBC, App State is the one that excites me the most*. I hope this is true.

*I'm speaking in terms of football, not basketball.

I keep stressing that GS can't afford to go FBS yet. That's what their feasibility study states explicitly. They've got some work to do before they get an invite. Does App State coming so soon mean that expansion moves to 12 without GS? Probably...

It is a joke compared to the newer boards, but they took a poll last year and decided to keep it temporarily. Will probably go with this though.

Their budget is doable as an ongoing thing.....the problem is the transition costs and upgrades.

I'm not that interested in Southern, would be a good add, but we've already got GSU. App, OTOH, is imperative if we want a quality program that can compete from day 1 to help us get to 12.

Hell, if we get App, i'd be happy with NMSU as #12.
