I'm a Bobcat fan.
Yo...Bobcat fan (OH)...what can you tell Georgia State fans about Ronnie Bell?
Did he transfer to Georgia State? I thought he went the DII route?
He's a mobile spread option QB. Our starter Tyler Tettleton is only a Juinor this season and after shattering all school records we had 2 young QBs transfer looking for more playing time. Ronnie Bell was one of them.
Yep...he transferred to Georgia State: http://www.panthertalk.com/georgia-state...moody-out/ He is a local product...was just wondering if you saw him in practicing or any spring game action that you could give a scouting report of how he looked at the college level.
He was a redshirt freshman so he obviously had a back seat to some of the other QB's. There was never a spring game to showcase what he could do.
The initial recruiting reviews were quite good. Sounds like a winner.

Hearing NMSU.
Dagger to the heart.
Still have my hopes up though. With the rumors of FSU and Clemson to the Big12, it's looking like another round of conference shuffle will trickle down to CUSA/SunBelt for an invites next year.

I trust your sources better then Seminole Indians...
FYI I have not asked anyone about ASU or the SBC. When they found out I was back in town they volunteered the info.
I visited this site to see what was going on at other schools and to get a different perspective, and to better talk about a subject they are passionate about.
When I see my 'sources' this week, I am going to politely try to start steering the conversation away from ASU athletics, which is a subject I have very little interest in.

I wouldn't worry about it, I think it is only a matter of time. With y'all just announcing your intentions a few weeks ago, I think it would be better to wait and have all your ducks in a row than rush into it. Waiting another year or even two would not be nearly as bad as making the jump before you're ready and suffering through a prolonged tough transition.

I have explained why, and why I don't anticipate visiting will be "added value" going forward. Because I do not attend athletic events, this sit has been very helpful in staying up on the subject, or to put what they were talking about into some kind of contex.
Had also posted something’s last week that I though I might require a response by me.
I do realize how anxious you guys are not to have someone who actually knows what is going on at ASU posting, but don't fret.

That might also allow some time for the Georgia State/Ga Southern bickering to calm down a bit. Ga State gets to enjoy a couple years as an FBS program that Southern isnt, and Ga Southern still gets the FBS invite they want.

Agreed.
Texas State and UTSA didn't announce their intentions until 2008, and we are only starting FBS play this season.

Personally I think it will make it worse. State will still act like they've accomplished something by having a school in big city, and Southern fans will still be frustrated that our on field success but lack of a budget kept us from receiving an invite.
This won't quiet down until we finally play each other a few times.
I think this will eventually turn into a great rivalry. Potentially one of the SBC's best. With so much recruiting done in GA, and lots of Southerns students coming from the ATL area, I think games in the Dome could really be rocking.

Works for me.
I would be very happy with this east set up, keeps FAU with Troy and MT, and of course very happy to have App with FAU, dreams do come true!!!!
still don't like the NMSU, but may be better than a Geo. Southern, not sure!
South gets screwed in that lineup. 1200+ miles to Las Cruces while their instate rival gets to stay in the Southeast.
That would only be for football. What would happen is they would create different divisions for olympic sports, in which UTA and UALR competed in the same division and South stayed in the East.
Essentially the SBC needs one East team who is willing to bite the bullet and face NMSU for a couple years. South might do it if we promised them Troy and Georgia State as guaranteed rivals in the other division.
If you gave us Troy and GSU every year for cross conference rival, we would have the same conference schedule every year and would see the other 4 schools so seldom that we would forget who they are.
Forget NMSU, they can stay with Idaho, they make no sense for the conference.

Discussions about playing North Dakota or Montana are just desperate thoughts when faced with possible death of the program.
NMSU was a respected member of the Sun Belt before, and left on good terms when given an opportunity to join a more geographically sensible conference. It was a move not unanticipated by SBC officials. I think you'll find NMSU admin and most NMSU posters to be reasonable (though not all! -lol). NMSU can add a lot to the SBC.
That is of course assuming we are invited - maybe still a long shot.
ASU and NMSU had a great series in football going when the WAC move happened. I hated to see you guys go.
If we split into divisions, and drop the Florida trip, adding you guys would be fine with me.
I hate to see any football team without a home, so I hope someone else will help Idaho find something a similar situation.

I know, but someone out of Troy/USA/WKU/MT will have to go west.
If you send any of WKU, MT, Troy west, you're likely going to lose one of the premier rivalry games for each of those teams (Troy would probably want GSU, but also keep MT, MT doesn't want to lose Troy. WKU and MT are virtually joined at the hip).
USA is the only one who can go west without losing one of the bigger games on the SBC schedule. You can still keep the Troy/USA game as a cross division rival.
Problem is for USA, I want to go to Boone every other year. Not every 6th year or so.
I say screw the divisions, if we go to twelve, best two teams at the end play for the conference championship, at the higher ranked teams stadium. That way we shouldn't have to worry with a 6-6 team playing a 10-2 team and getting the upset that will just set back the conference.
Not real sure why your laughing, your now in a conference that is no better, if not worse then the current SBC. Boone is a much nicer city then Charlotte and oh yeah, they actually play football right now.
