I don't mind the addition of a non-football program and UT-A seems as good as any, but their location is all wrong. How can we balance divisions when both of our non-football schools are both in the western part of the conference? I jokingly said in another thread that we may have to have two sets of divisions: one just for football and one for all other sports. As dumb as that sounds, it may be what has to happen.

RE: WTH UT-Arlington....
Having big wins is irrelevant, hats of to WKU last season but the Sun Belt needs to STOP sending teams with losing records to NCAA tourney's. It's plain embarrassing and makes the whole conference look bad. I hope we get enough teams to start making it to where everyone doesn't make the conference tourney's.

Not starting fire but UTA's schedule looked just as good as WKU's schedule last season. And I just checked their records I only saw one losing season since 2002 and at least two of them have been 20+ win seasons. And they have a new facility we could do a lot worse than UTA.

They are consistantly over .500 and are capable of pulling off some 20 win seasons. In addition they have admitted they are interested in the possibility of starting football in the future.

They have a good little team.

the 'having big wins is irrelevant' statement sends you directly to the dummy pile.

please justify that statement for me. i didn't ask if they beat uk last year. i simply asked if they beat anyone we have heard of.

again....why would having a big win be irrelevant? in any freakin' sport. what makes a big win irrelevant????????

so they've had only 2 20+ win seasons in 10 years? in probably a weaker conference than the sun belt conference. that kinda sucks.

i'm sure we could do a lot worse than them. i don't know what they are. that's why i was asking questions. i figured some of the unt faithful would know everything about them and could save me the work of looking them up.

RE: WTH UT-Arlington....
So that is still ten for football

East

FAU
GA State
MT
USA
Troy

West

ASU
ULL
ULM
Tx State
WKU

With UALR and UTA for basketball.

It looks like the next invite goes to UNCC based upon the UTA addition. Adding App state and Ga Southern gets the SBC to 14.

With the UTA add you have to start keeping track of news reports concerning UNF and FGCU. Based on the UTA nod, FAU needs a travel partner and closer SBC rival. That will bring the SBC to 16.

Can you add UNF and FGCU using blue dots? Blue dots for possible future additions.

UTA was 25-9 last year and won the regular season Southland championship. They were upset in the SLC semifinals and went to the NIT where they lost to Washington in the first round.

Wins included a 33 point win over North Texas and wins over La. Tech and Kent State.

They lost by 10 to Baylor, to Tulsa in OT and by 4 to UTah State. All of those games were on the road.

Scott Cross their head coach just signed an extension.

SBC basketball gets a bump by adding them.

Well, hell's bells, with that stadium, revive the football program, rename the school to MetroPlex University, by all means bring 'em into the Sun Belt (SBC) or whatever Karl wants to name it and they can't miss. Win, win for ole UTA, uh, MPU.02-13-banana

That looks just like the stadium of my old high schools cross town rival. And why the hell is there a longhorn logo at mid field?

I'm not starting an E fight with you but the conference they played in was no worse than the Sun Belt and you would have to be pretty bad to be worse than us in basketball lol.

And when I said big wins are irrelevant I would take a 20 win season over a 13 win season with a few big wins any day. Big wins are nice but when your building your program it's all about winning as many games as you can and winning conference titles.

No one is going to care if UTA beats Texas after that season.
