I'll predict:

1). Cole Gardner TE/DE (IL) to commit. What I read suggests he has EMU written all over him.

2). Brayton Barr LB (Pa) to commit. Sounds like a recruit who could find EMU a good fit.

3). I predict either Lewis or Wilson to get 'blown away" and ONE to accept the one available offer.

I agree with you on this and maybe a couple big shockers. I heard about us having a weekend but I wondering what effect the weather will have on the recruits..

I've been following recruiting, with varying degrees of interest, for 20 years.

What I've felt since English has been here (and, of course, what EMU has done for athletes and indeed the entire campus) is that a lot of recruits and their families get blown away by EMU. Pleasantly surprised.

That makes it so much easier to 'seal the deal' if someone says "EMU looks like a pretty good choice for me" and then visits and finds that their expectations were: "Expectations exceeded". 04-cheers

I'll bet one or two recruits say that this weekend.

Dear NUPudge,
Thanks for the information. You're right about reading those web-sites, they helped very much.

RE: My top EMU FB recruiting targets
Here is a prospect who has fallen off the radar.

Apparently EMU has/had interested Jeff Kruse. At one time I thought he was a verbal although it never seemed so. Article says he has an offer.

Apparently he is headed to Princeton.

http://www.tampabay.com/hometeam/blog/co...res/12356/

Sounds like he is headed to Princeton but leaving the door open in case a good offer comes along.

Interesting. Had an offer from Toledo, according to both Scout and Rivals. That's what I like to see.

Is he a DB or a WR???

I assumed a WR?

If so, I assume he got the scholarship Charlie Meyer might have gotten (he was to visit 1/27 which is pretty late).

Is Meyer still in play? Would like both.

Quncy Jones is still in play.

I got to believe it is crunch time between Jones and Meyer.

Here is a video of the kid..

I am not sure if EMU wants him on the defense or offense side of the ball. From looking at him, he didn't seem to fast or quick. I am guessing as you shared we may not be getting another WR.. I would rather wait to see what is remaining after feb. 1st.

But part of me says to trust these coaches because of their track record from last year.

Welcome aboard Dustin Creel...

He didn't seem too fast? Practically the entire highlight package was of him breaking away from everyone else and scoring long TDs. He doesn't appear to be the most agile prospect, but his straight-line speed was sneakily impressive, at least IMO.

You could be right and he does have long legs being 6'2. I guess from looking at Meyers who is a burner with speed and you can see the clear brake away speed with him. We need speed to demand double coverage on the deep route... I am not knocking this kid only making a observation.

Robert Gregory visited Purdue I believe the 1st weekend in January per Rivals.

Have NO idea where he will land.

More on Juwan Lewis...

Are there any ESPN Insiders in here that can read the rest of the report?

I have the "Insiders".

Went well. Mike Hart did the sell.

Lewis is a 'one cut and go' runner and that is what EMU is looking for.

Lewis has visited Buffalo, and EMU. Miami(O) next weekend and then he'll decide.

Miami was last in the MAC in rushing I believe. We had 4 guys with more rushing yards than their leading rusher. Not sure if that will help or hurt us, but I'd imagine a RB recruit would prefer to go to a team that has a run-first mentality.

Just a thought, but I wonder if our former stars get involved in meeting some of our potential recruits. I bet kids meeting with guys like Kevin Walter, TJ Lang, Jason Jones, Charlie Batch, etc would have a huge impact. I can't help but wonder if Coach English has reached out to our distinguished alums.

That isn't allowed by NCAA rules. I was wondering the same. I saw this article on Iowa football.

Ah interesting. Former players can come back to visit, they just can't be introduced to prospective recruits. I bet that rule gets pushed to the limit everywhere! (especially the SEC).

I'm sure it does! I think ALL rules get pushed or even looked backed at in the rearview mirror in the SEC

That's a dumb rule, but not exactly shocking, since we are talking about the NCAA. When you have rules that literally prevent one human being from talking to another simply because of where one went to school, that is pathetic.
