WHAT????????????????????? he branded kids and outside influences kept the lawsuit alive. I knew something was up here. Teachers are let go all the time. There is no such thing as tenure even though it's a great boogeyman for the right.

The creation lobby wanted to make him a martyr and was willing to spend the money on the lawsuit.
It's a strategy that creationist academics have stated to use when passed over for positions. I'm really surprised the MrTorch hasn't gotten in on this racket.

I knew there was something. 900,000 is a ridiculus amount of money. Probably worth it to the creationists though in publicity.

I couldn't believe it myself. There's no way it would fly. Your avg. teacher in Ottawa Hills would take a 50% cut. This particular part of the bill can't stand, but it is in there.

I'm not seeing 30%+ cuts there. Narrow it down for us.

In Maryland that would be illegal. Better check the wiretapping laws for the states.

Grow a set of nuts, Mach. You want to start invoking Godwin's Law like a little ***** over a governor trying to balance his budget, don't expect civil discourse. You're essentially trying to shut other people down by comparing them to Nazis.

Yep. Me neither.
Help us out mach.
Main thing I'm looking for Mach is where it says that if you are a teacher with 5 years experience now, and make more money than the base salary, that your pay is cut to meet the new requirement.

Reb,
In the end you can't have two sets of rules. You can't warn one poster when another poster continually and habitually violates that very same rule. I would like MLB to give me a clarification on what exactly he meant when he sent me this. I believe you are also on this very same NCAABBS staff.
Dear Machiavelli
You have received a warning from the staff of NCAAbbs.

Going around the word filter... please refrain from this.
You do this constantly. Have you ever recieved such a warning Reb?

As for Niner. I don't understand what you don't understand. Read the bill. It's setting salaries. This is the reason it can't fly. IMO. They are already beginning to crumble. Jones put out a bill that has conflicts within itself. Unless they null and void local contracts. What if your local school board has no money issues? I've called my state senaor asking him these same questions. He hasn't returned my calls and my local union is aware of the conflicts but they have no answers either.

Hey I can play by any set of rules. There just can't be two sets of rules. It's easy to call someone a whiny ***** and such when the rules aren't being enforced upon you. You are a joke. All encompassing joke who shouldn't be trusted with scissors.

RE: On prank call, Wis. governor discusses strategy
per the other discussion. I came across this gem
The minimum merit-based salary prescribed by section 3317.13 of the Revised Code for the licensed supervisory employee of the governing board;
(b) An amount equal to fifteen per cent of the salary prescribed by section 3317.13 of the Revised Code;
So in my case it will be over a 30% cut in pay to get a chance at 15%. Meanwhile my school distict has no financial troubles whatsoever. It's a JOKE.

Can you follow rules that exist for others? Simple question Reb. If you can't maybe you should recuse yourself from the spin room. Conflict of interest and such.

I have. You haven't.
Quote:It's setting salaries.
When does it indicate that these new base salaries are retroactive mach? If you read the bill it only impacts CBA's that are entered into on, or after the bill becomes law. That means previous previsions in CBA's, including negotiated salaries, remain in effect. It also preserves the rights for the unions to continue CBAs. While it restricts their ability to negotiate higher base pay, it allows them to negotiate the merit increase amounts and the standards on which they are based. It eliminates giving a teacher a raise simply on time of service.
So based on this, no, they are not, as you assert, cutting your pay by 20k a year.
Unlike you, I completely understand what you don't understand. And it's a hell of a lot.

I'm not a lwayer and I do think the langauge in the bill is very hard to follow. I'll wait for the finished product.
