RE: Another bad break for the WAC
South Dakota and North Dakota State look increasingly palatable for WAC football additions after the past two weeks.

RE: Another bad break for the WAC
Despite their win, I don't think South Dakota is a serious candidate at all. I've read some media mentions of North Dakota State, but I don't know that any of those programs are thinking FBS. All 4 Dakota schools have just recently moved up from D-2 to D-1/FCS. Hard to imagine them being able to increase their budget to handle another 22 scholarships for FB and another 22 women plus the coaches/staff needed to support the additional women's teams.
According to Equity in Athletics, the approximate budgets last year were:
UND - $14.5
NDSU - $13 mil
SDSU - $10.7 mil
USD - $7.1 mil
Eh. UND and NDSU might...might be able to swing it. But probably not with WAC travel costs going up and WAC TV deal plummeting. The two South Dakota schools have no chance right now.

RE: Another bad break for the WAC
If I were AD at any of the four Dakota schools, I'd rather be part of an FBS Missouri Valley Conference. The only catch is the MVC would need at least four of its own programs (most likely Missouri State, Illinois State, Southern Illinois, and either Wichita State or Northern Iowa) to move up for the Dakota schools to even be part of the discussion.
The MVC would probably want to shed itself of 2+ schools rather than balloon to 14 for all sports-all of the private schools would be a target, but Evansville and Indiana State-a public school with little chance of upgrading football-are the furthest east and easiest to sacrifice.

NDSU and SDSU already play football in the MVC.

Rumors are swirling that UND athletics will be a recipient of a major gift soon. Is the WAC possible? Almost certainly not in the short term, but longer-term yes. The state of ND is projecting $0.5-1.0 billion surpluses for the forseeable future even with major expansion of both ND universities budgets.
Of all the Dakota schools, USD more than any other needed a Minnesota-type win to raise funding and fan awareness. USD has very limited athletic facilities and badly needs major donations.

I wonder how much of UND's budget is allocated for hockey?
I would imagine that their hockey pays the bills for all of the sports....much like everyone else tries to do with football.

Hey Slick, remember they are not a member and would need to bring something tangible to get in. Just can't stay away from the Belt board can ya ? Still waiting for you to post the photos of your athletic village that you claim will shame the Mean Green Village. Problem ?:odie:
seen your athletic village in the prairie. grow some grass. oh thats right you can't. not only does everything TSU have to offer 1000 times better than UNT, it all sits on a beautiful campus. Let me clue you in. While they have a river running through it you have an interstate. That environment alone is worth bringing them into the WAC or SBC. and their name doesn't sound so well directional
I really wish Texas State well in the WAC-Lite. Maybe you can use the river running thru their campus to take a bath with the Techsters visit to play ball. Kinda pathetic that you are so envious of the Belt that you camp out on our board. Have fun on the outside looking in.:odie:
Thank you very much for wishing us well in the WAC. If La Tech brings hotties like these to the games, they're more than welcome to join us in the river!
Some more La Tech babes:
hotties
That's just about the best Tech can offer....those 5 and only 1 of which I'd hit. The problem is, Tech doesn't travel out of state well for football, so you'll never see these girls unless you travel to Ruston and I do not fully comprehend why anyone would travel to Ruston.

Should clarify a little more....if I had the right amount of adult beverages (which you cannot buy in Ruston), I'd hit all 5. If I had enough adult beverages, they'd all look like #2 in my eyes, so it would be ok.

Lincoln Parish, like Dallas county, is split. Ruston is beer and wine sales, while Grambling sells liquor.

I wouldn't click that, you don't know where it's been. It could have a virus.
