Here is a link from the University of Memphis showing our MSA as being just Shelby, Crittenden, Tipton, Fayette, DeSoto, Marshall and Tunica Counties. They say that the Memphis MSA is estimated to now be at 1,239,337 (July 2003 estimate):

I guess it would help if I actually read the list. Thanks.

So, this would be the Memphis MSA using 2000 census numbers:

Memphis, TN-AR-MS MSA (2000 census population data)

Total: 1,205,204

Shelby County, TN: 897,472
Crittenden County, AR: 50,866
Fayette County, TN: 28,806
Tipton County, TN: 51,271
DeSoto County, MS: 107,199
Marshall County, MS: 34,993
Tate County, MS: 25,370
Tunica County, MS: 9,227

Using 2003 census estimate population numbers:

Memphis, TN-AR-MS MSA (2003 census population estimate data)

Total: 1,239,337

Shelby County, TN: 906,178
Crittenden County, AR: 51,155
Fayette County, TN: 32,289
Tipton County, TN: 54,184
DeSoto County, MS: 124,378
Marshall County, MS: 35,442
Tate County, MS: 25,794
Tunica County, MS: 9,917

That is interesting that all eight counties in the Memphis MSA are gaining in population, including Shelby. DeSoto continues to boom.

I thought that was Al McGwire, RIP, but either one of those 2 getting a big pile of Tiger turds would be fine with me.... 04-rock
