That will come as quite a shock to the over 3000 season ticket holders we have.

It's a big game for the reasons I said. Standings and seeding in the conference tourney. But overall the fact that's it's Memphis doesn't mean any more than if it was Depaul.

Quote:We've had 400 people on our board at times, which is 10% of the attendance at some of your games.

And I care because?

But you only have a couple of hundred real fans and half of them post on your message board, so it must be a big game for you guys.

We've had 400 people on our board at times, which is 10% of the attendance at some of your games.
There have been up to 259 people on NinerNation.net at once, which I'm fully aware is less than 400, but probably more than you expected. Also, I wouldn't go as far as saying that the Niners only have a few hundred "real" fans. While there aren't always quite as many people as one would hope, there are certainly more than a couple of hundred people who show at every game. This morning, lower level student tickets were gone quicker than they were for any game aside from Cincinnati. While I know you might want to say that's because Memphis "must be a big game," I don't really think that's the case. I think it has more to do with the ranking and how well the team's been playing lately. This game is huge, but it's not necessarily because it's Memphis that we're playing. Last week's game against DePaul was a big game that sold out, and I don't think that DePaul is typically a big game for Charlotte. Excitement is starting to build among casual fans, and even among people who are typically sort of apathetic when it comes to Charlotte basketball. Like I've said, that's what a ranking can do. Obviously Memphis has been playing well, and that does help make this a bigger game, but for people to keep insisting that Memphis is a huge game, and even our "biggest game of the year" is ludicrous.

Who really cares what 49er fans think...really...it's a big game, period...I can't stand any opposing fans, including them...what they think or say is truly meaningless

Are you trying to be clever or are you really just this stupid?

I'd be surprised if these 3 girls combined weighed over 176 pounds.

By trying to defend yourself, you just made your program seem even more small time (as if that's possible) than it already is. We have more season ticket holders than your usually half full building even holds. Our team is a major disappointment and we still draw 5,000 more fans a game.

Also, to answer your stupid question. Of course you care. If you didn't you wouldn't be here trying to defend your little K-Mart basketball program.

Look, who cares if we are their biggest game or not....it's the same silly arguement some people have with Louisville about whether we are their biggest rivals...I don't care if we are the "smallest" game Charlotte plays or if we are Louisville's 39th best rival. Let's just treat Charlotte like we are in Freedom Hall and win that game.
