I Disagree. Case in point, see 4 years ago. JMU had a winning program and made a complete crap hire then.
The problem here is Jeff Bourne and Jon Alger and their unwillingness to pay the market rate for successful mid major coaches.

JMU had the perfect storm for hiring due to COVID-19. The fewest head coach jobs open in many years (perhaps ever?) and zero P7 schools depleting the talent pool by hiring with multi million annual contracts. JMU couldn’t ask for less competition in the hiring market and this is still all they came up with. Ridiculous.
