I would definitely get behind the hiring of Mike Jones. If we are able to land him it should not be viewed as a disappointing hire just because he lacks name recognition from the general populace. We need a proven winner with experience. I would be pleasantly surprised if Mike wanted the job. He has a good thing going at Radford and can probably keep winning at Radford and get a P5 offer. I don’t feel like he needs another stepping stone before he can garner P5 interest.

While not quite at Forbes level, I would support Jones. Meets criteria I think are important: assistant with some solid schools like WVU, Georgia, VCU and also has established himself as a winning HC that seems to be getting better over time.

Not a splash hire, and overall record is 0.52, but the last three years he is 0.80 which is better than we've been in a while. Based on Radford, I'd expect we would see improvement each year, with years 3 and 4 being where it would start to be fun. I wouldn't expect magic the first year.
