I am going to ask a favor of everyone on here. I've never done this, but here goes.

Lou knows the score. He knows that the only chance he has of remaining the coach is by finishing strong and winning the tournament. Those are extremely long odds. I don't see us miraculously flipping that switch and becoming world beaters. We can't play much better than we did against W&M. It took a miraculous shooting effort by W&M to beat us. We played with great energy and showed what we could have been.

Here is the deal. Lou loves JMU, he loves his players and they love him. I love him. He is a good man. His players are the nicest most well mannered kids I have seen in decades. Everyone of them came up to me and shook my hand and welcomed me. They are all humble and polite. Our administration has received letters from hotels and restaurants complimenting on how great of kids they are. That counts for something. It actually counts for a lot. Those kids are a reflection on JMU.

Let's not trash Lou. Let's hope that the impending change in the leadership of our basketball program can be smooth and compassionate. We all wanted and hoped that Lou would take us back to the promised land. He worked his ass off trying to. It just didn't work out. But, let's respect him and make sure he stays a Duke for life. Talk about potential new Head Coach possibilities all you want. I will, too. But keep the Keener, Dillard comparisons out of it. Lou is different. He doesn't deserve to be knocked down. Embrace him. He is one of us. One of our best ever players.
