Agree - he sounded thoroughly defeated in the post game interview. But considering how rare an NCAA appearance is for this program, I'm thinking it might make it more difficult to fire Rowe than one might expect.

Stick a fork in him. LR is done. LR would have to lead the team to a Sweet 16 (or better) to save his job, and that’s just not going to happen. I’m with those who believe JMU may not win another game this season.

JMU has been to 4 NCAATs. Only 4 MBB HCs have posted 4-20 win seasons. MB is one of those HCs (including his last year), and also one of the HCs who took a JMU team to one of those rare NCAAT appearances (plus a win). That record didn’t amount to much when JMU decided to cut MB loose.

That decision is looking dumb and dumber. All because he didn't want to be president of the local chamber of commerce.

Decision to replace was not dumb. The decision of who to hire.....

The decision to fire a reasonable successful coach without having a plan was negligent and irresponsible. I was one of the many ready to upscale the program a bit. Kind of like from going from Mickey to Withers to Houston, etc. What they did to basketball was like firing Mickey and hiring a grad assistant who had been a player under RIP Scherer. Made no sense. And all they could say was the program deserved better and were privately pissed that he wasn't a member of the Harrisonburg Rotary Club. Coaching is a big enough responsibility without having to worry about make up meetings.
