Who on here honestly believes Rowe will be retained? The only concern I have is who will be hired.

Hiring is a crapshoot for any AD. Would any of us thought that Grant would fail at Alabama and Shaka at Texas? Name one CAA hire in the last decade that you thought would be a sure fire success?

JMU men’s basketball is not a coveted job. The new arena will help. The success of other programs is a selling point. The fact that we have fired every coach we have hired in the last four decades is the biggest deterrent to any coach taking the job. Most were fired because of their abysmal win-loss record. The two coaches that managed to win games were fired because they had run ins with the administration.

If you are a successful coach trying to move up the coaching ladder, does JMU appeal to you?

Bourne has his work cut out for him again. He must sell this job as a place where a known winner can win and convince said coach that the JMU administration was not the source of the friction between the two coaches that were successful. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this time will be different but as much as I respect the job the administration has done at JMU, even I can’t say I am confident.
