Hyper and those in the know, what exactly was Lonergan accused of at GW? I am too lazy to look it up right now. I remember something happening a while back but fuzzy on details.

There was a pretty in-depth article on it in maybe the Washington Post at the time? It definitely came across as if the AD HATED him & it could have been more about that beef than Lonergan...but the fact that no one has hired him makes me think the AD had good reason & his 500 wins isn't the only factor to consider.

My impression is Lonergan was (wrongly) fired because of his whistleblowing on the ADs inappropriate behavior with students. GW settled/paid out Lonergan afterward with a non disclosure attached. The AD also left.

I can see why the situation would scare ADs and even legal staff a bit, but of what is publically known - it looks like the AD was the real problem there.

All you need to know about who was in the right was that GW paid Lonergan his 4.8 million and as far as I can tell the AD resigned and got nothing once the proof of his behavior got out. I think Lonergan was old school in his ways, but he has lots of support from former players and no player ever publicly came out against him even after he was gone. I do get based on the unsubstantiated info against Longergan why no one will touch him with a ten foot pole, however.
