Yes, Very disappointing and the email tells me all I need to know about where things stand at JMU with basketball. I should say reaffirms things. This was a good chance to change things. The decision does not make sense to me but obviously it does to some of you. Obviously I have different goals than the admin does, and winning titles and getting to the top 100 are not going to happen with Rowe in my opinion.

The letter has many stretches and can easily be contradicted with opposing views, including tons of losses to teams ranked below 200 and playing a completely worthless schedule and winning 12 games, but what is the point. If winning one out of 3 against Hofstra and splitting with Charleston is enough, then so be it. Meanwhile we lost twice to mighty Elon and W&M.

W&M is going for it. I know they are a rival and we have been below them for a while, and Rowe won 1 out of 6 against them, but I am happy for their fans and hope they make a splash hire. Funny that their boards mentioned and joked about Pitino. They have some good realistic potential coaches actually and some on our list. They are all in on trying to finish first next season, and their fans are convinced they have the talent to do it. A good coach may put them at the top. I think a good coach here would put us right up there. It does not take much in the current CAA.

Not sure what we are looking for, other than some improvement. Impossible to be worse— maybe I should not say that.

I have followed this team for 30+ years and am again disappointed, but I do want to say that I respect posters like NJDuke97 and Dukes84 as they also follow the team closely and I enjoy reading their thoughts on recruits and the team as a whole.

I am glad Bourne at least said something although it should have been done last week if he was going to keep Rowe.

Firing Shaver doesn't seem to be a popular move from what I read on the W&M board.

I did find this interesting comment from a Tribe fan I believe is a Millennial. I wonder if his feeling on FCS football is common down there among the newer graduates?
