Speaking of, BION he is just now coming off Ga Tech's books this month. After he led GT to the national title game in 2004, he signed a contract that was incredibly stupid. It essentially was an annual 6-year rollover that added a year after every season he completed. IOW, when he was fired he was owed for 6 years of annual contract. When he was HC at Mason, he was making about twice more a year not to coach at GT than he was paid to coach at Mason. He reportedly "worked with" GT to spread his payments out to be paid off in 7 or 8 years instead of 6...though, he was paid the same amount in the end.

Must be nice for these guys to walk down to their mailbox and get a check monthly for near a couple hundred grand for essentially doing nothing. But, can't blame the guy for the contract he was given. I would've taken it too and so would pretty much everyone in that situation. Btw, I believe the Mets still pay Bobby Bonilla every month. (truth!)

Yup- Bobby Bonilla Day is every July 1st until 2035. He gets roughly 1.2 million of deferred compensation every July 1st.
