Shouldn’t have been that close.

But any win on the road is a good win. I’ll be in Boone in 2 weeks. Expect a much better atmosphere at Holmes.

Whew, thank goodness JMad decided to kick it around the last 5 minutes. 23 turnovers for us, 13 for them. Theirs came late and was the difference. Nice win for us.

Someone help me out. How do quad 1 wins work? Is it where they were rated at the time you played or where they’re rated come tournament selection time? And which ratings system is used to determine that?

I believe it as at tournament time. Definitely seen those shift around.

It's based off of the NET ranking.
Quad 1-

1-30 NET at home
1-50 NET neutral
1-75 NET away.

When 3 of your starters are out, you're gonna get whipped on the road. Not surprised at all and the USM-Troy score tonight.

We had 3 starters out of the game. The second best scorer of what we had left made 2 baskets and was playing his worst game of the year. Troy put up non stop insane pressure. Honestly the fact they only won by 26 is startling.

They try. Decent team they have but the better defense won tonight. You shut down Edwards with them and that’s it.

Wow! Cold weather must’ve caused an outbreak of laryngitis + numbness in fingers for the JMU faithful. Should somebody check on them?

Nope. They are as fair weather as they come. No surprise here.

Difficult to win when you turn it over 23 times. But, JMU's shooting was really off. Came in to the game with the best FG% in the league and App held them to 12% points under their season average. I'm sure some of it was an off night from JMU's top scorers, but App held JMU to right at what App has been allowing from the field. This game was the best offensive team versus the best defensive team, this one went to the better defensive club. App came into the game leading the nation in block shoots per game and added to that stat with 7. These two go at again in two weeks, I would imagine we'll see a JMU squad seeking revenge. Kudos to the Dukes' crowd, announced at 7700.

They scored too much Thursday against South. They should have saved some for tonight lol.

Scully - we Herd fans have a different take! Your guys were on it from the tip. How you are only a game over .500 is beyond me… good win.

Men's Basketball Week of Jan 10th -13th
Bouncing around watching a few of Saturday’s games on demand I’m impressed by some of the arenas and crowd turnouts. JMU and Marshall both have great support and really nice tight-feeling confines.

Has anyone compiled average attendance in a while?

Team 187 out of 362 - 85

Coaching matters.

Fun Belt Sports on twitter does this and updates regularly.

And it is downright embarrassing. Only three teams averaging over 4k fans a game and that is tickets sold not butts in seats. With half the league below 2k a game.

Oh I have no doubt App is bringing down the league average. It usually grows as the season goes along. It’s hard to fathom that our football attendance is so elite but basketball attendance sucks.

ODU leads at right at 5600, JMU is second right at 5000, App is fifth at 2700.
