Where did you hear about Salisbury possibly moving up?

D2 message board forum since Salisbury is in the Coast To Coast Conference in D3. Be logical move for them anyways as that conference is dying. Christopher Newport and Mary Washington might also join them. You may get four schools with those three joining Frostburg State in the conference.

Mary Washington is a non-FB school so I doubt they'd be attractive even though they're a public school. If we are talking D3 schools in VA, even though it's private, I'd go with Shenandoah since they've updated their facilities in the last 10-15 years and are well within the ME footprint.

I'd like to see Mary Washington, Salisbury, and Shenandoah in the Mountain East. The MEC already has one non-football, wouldn't be too bad to make it a pair. Christopher Newport fits in with Conference Carolinas better.

I had introduced a thread here talking about the merits of D2 athletics a few years ago, but I have no issue with posting about the Alaska schools and the Great Northwest Athletic Conference here.

I miss GNAC football. Western Washington and Humboldt State should have never dropped football. Sad.

UNA played Western Oregon in a home/away series in 2014-15 and split with them.

I’ve always thought the Alaska schools were cool and loved keeping up with the Great Alaska Shootout.

We need to encourage more schools on the west coast to add or restart football. Southern Oregon used to up there with the D2 schools with football.

Wouldn’t surprise me to see UMHB and HSU from the ASC in D3 move up in the next year or two. The ASC is losing teams, both of those schools could compete in D2 and they can go into the LoneStar Conference.

UMHB has facilities better then some teams just added to CUSA.

A few years ago, East Texas Baptist was thinking of moving up to D2 as well.

But, we might see some restructuring at D2 in the future.

For Central Washington and Western Oregon? they are too big for NAIA, mot a fit for D3 private schools, and no room in D1. They tried to get some NAiA football schools to join the GNAC.

I may have missed this somewhere, and if so I apologize, but Middle Georgia State is moving up after the 2024-25 season from NAIA.

Yeah, the GNAC tried to lure them, Eastern Oregon and Carroll Montana to make the move to D2 from the NAIA.

Thank you, 3BNole!!! So much happening in D1 land that I almost forgot to return to D2!!

Huge news for Minnesota D2 programs: free tuition for lower income residents of Minnesota!!

Minnesota's ambitious plan to give lower-income residents free college has created a "crisis" in neighboring North Dakota, where higher education officials worry about a drop in enrollment from Minnesota students who can get a better deal...

The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission informed Alderson-Broadus University that they are revoking the University's permit to function and issue degrees as of Dec. 31. This means that no new students will be enrolled and only students due to graduate at the end of the fall semester will be allowed to graduate...all the other students will have to find new enrollments by the end of the fall semester.

All sports programs have been curtailed. AB was a member of the NCAA Mountain East Conference. (Division 2)

Their URL (ab.edu) has to be worth something in a bankruptcy sale. Short and catchy.

I doubt many existing school are too keen to change their domain. That’s a big pain, and confusing.

Would most likely go to a new institution. I feel like Anhueser Busch could be primed to start an online school of marketing and public relations.03-lmfao

Only a couple days into exhibition basketball games and we've already had a couple of Division 2 over D1 upsets.

Walsh beat Oakland by 6 on Thursday and Augusta (GA) who are ranked top 10 in the Division 2 national preseason poll won at Georgia Southern last night.
