We can participate as well, so I have no problem with it. As far as the G5 turning out to be a developmental league for the P5, I don’t see that as really being a thing. FBS players are going to be going down at a much larger clip than going up because it’s largely the same players transferring as it has always been.

I do think some of the top dogs will transfer to P5 but how many of those do we get in the first place? Also why gamble your starting job away?

We've had our starting QB & MLB gamble their starting job.

Correct.

Proper term the OP is referring to is FREE AGENCY...as players now get a free one-time transfer without sitting out.

You are going to lose some and gain some. At the end just like with the freshmen recruits you will have to wait and see IF they produce and did you gained or lost more in the moves.

Right now for USF we will have to wait and see how the incoming 14 do on the field, but so far none of those leaving were actually producing much, so much better for them and USF to go elsewhere

It's gonna take a few years to see where this goes. As for me, I'm not a big fan of the portal.

There are gems out there but often it’s like dating...no matter how hot she is there is likely a guy out there who just got sick of her sh!t.

Selectively bringing in guys is great but making a big habit of it is going to destroy locker rooms. Frankly, not sure why a HS recruit would talk to schools that bring in rent a players wholesale every year to recruit over the guys who committed to the program.
