I know it's only Monday but it is "Battle For The Belt" week in Alabama!

I'm really excited because I will get to be there in person this year! Making the drive down Friday from Arkansas. Can't wait to eat Hooks BBQ and watch some good old fashion rivalry football that afternoon. This is my wife's 2nd Troy game and first at The Vet. Can't wait for an awesome Saturday!!

Go Troy! I think it's going to be a very close game this year. Hopefully we extend our win streak to 4 games.

Troy has a stout defense. South Alabama has a lot of injuries, especially at OL. That worries me in this game. South Alabama opened as a 2 point favorite somehow. The money quickly moved in Troy's favor and now Troy is favored by 4.

Coastal exposed our defense last Thursday though. McCall threw for 300 yards and Coastal rushed for 216 yards. We have a few injuries on defense but I'm not sure how bad those are.

Kimani Vidal has found fire recently though and I expect they will rush him around 20 times Saturday.

Is the "belt" being updated with the SBC logo this year?

They were the #1 rated offense recently, either before Troy or before APP, so I don't think it's bad as a performance as people think. We were harassing McCall all night, and he threw his second INT of the season. South's offense is improving though and they have a few weapons that could hurt us. South's defense is no joke either, and they could wreck our offensive line.

I doubt it. It still is using the old Troy logo as well.

I get the records, but this game should be on ESPNU. This is the game to show case the Sun Belt, not Texas State at Louisiana (sorry Cajuns).

It should be a good atmosphere. I'm predicting we will be at almost full capacity for this game.

This game has the makings of a good old fashion knockdown-dragout atmosphere. I just hope South is not the one to get knocked down and dragged out. If we don't win this one our chances for qualifying for a bowl game will be slim and none.

Typically the away team does better in this series so you have that going in your favor. We definitely need a win here if we are going to have a chance at bowl eligibility.

After Troy we are @App State, @Tennessee, and have Coastal Carolina at home. To borrow your phrase: "We definitely need a win here if we are going to have a chance at bowl eligibility."

All or nothing game for the Jags, gotta have it because the next 4 are going to be tough to squeeze a win out of someone.

Hence why it should be on ESPN on a Thursday or ESPN2 at night on a Saturday.

2013 and 2016 were two of the best. I won't speak to 2014, 2015 or 2017 though...
