Well, we are just a better overall athletic program.

Does Tulane have a fanbase?

I have relatives living North Shore of New Orleans and they are all LSU fans.

What about Tulane?

RE: Tulane needs to Step Up its game
Private schools with small fan bases and even smaller attendance was not a good vision when building a conference, and hurts the tv deals. Great schools, really great schools, not good for a growing ( trying to grow) conference .

RE: Tulane needs to Step Up its game
So what do we do before (or during)our TV Deal negotiation?

I just wish have more UCFs and Cincys in this conference and hoping for 15 million /year/school

The biggest perception and competitiveness of this conference does not depend on our ceiling, really, but our base.

(I sound like Donald Trump right now)

Go to 10 not 14 teams . Need Ucf , USF, Cincinnati, Houston , Memphis, Temple, and kind of navy and smu playing every year, not 2 out of 4 in some cases.Go to 9 conference games, cut out the fcs games, strength of schedule would be stronger. Better weekly match ups, increased rivalries, which would increase attendance; not as many mouths to feed. With no limits for conference championship game anymore,( see big12) that’s what I would do!

Things have to happen now or near future.
(before TV Deal)

Before we lock ourselves up for another 8 or 10 years, (if American is to expand or change our lineup) I hope American schools can do it now.

I am hoping for a splash when TV deal announced

So we're only playing fcs teams now? Sounds good.

Louisiana what?

ULL or University of Louisiana Lafayette Ragin Cajuns

The Cajuns are in the Sun belt and went 27-7 / 16-2 in conference and went to the NIT last year.

And had less than 10 thousand at home, vs navy; typically a good draw, for a chance to go to a bowl. Need to move down.

SMU, Tulsa, and Tulane could all achieve what Baylor and TCU have with the right people in place. But it doesn't help when you have to fight some of your own faculty, and some of the media like Tulsa does.

Dude... We outnumbered them almost 2-1 when we went down there this year. I really hope their fans start going to games. Not a good look for a new stadium and all.

Birmingham vs SEC
Military Bowl vs ACC
St Pete Bowl vs ACC

plus the Access Bowl if UCF beats us...those are solid bowl.

Tulane is 6-6...with that kind of record you expect a crap bowl game...Going to Orlando so the team can visit Disney, enjoy the Florida sun, and potentially play a 7 win team from the same State would honestly be a lucky draw for them.

at 6-6 you don't get to complain.
