Pay wasn't the reason they left. Memphis offered Cal more than KY.
I'm using that as an example. If you're honestly trying to argue staying at Memphis vs Kentucky for bball is a better idea, you're being naive. even as a fan, you have to understand reasonable moves.

Oh no I am not trying to argue staying at Memphis over KY at all. In fact, just the opposite. KY offered things that money can't buy. In Memphis, Cal was king. At KY Cal is king all over the country. The prestige is boundless for him at KY and truth be told, Cal is the perfect fit for KY. He can handle the media, the fans, the recruits and win enough to sort of keep everyone content. Even when he doesn't he has a top recruiting class coming in to buy himself more time.

The powerhouses of UVU and Vermont. All that talent. Squeaking it out against UVU and Vermont.

His biggest wins in the last 10 years? What is your point?

It’s a message board brother...That’s what you do. State your opinion. I live in a memphis. I listen to Memphis Sports Talk. If you don’t like it. Ignore button is your friend .

Nah bra, just noting it's amazing how many people have opinions of the guy even though many hear swear they never listen to any of it.

Either they do listen and they are lying or they don't listen and are making ignorant statements.

Waiting for the "that's why I only listen to satellite radio" posts that inevitably pop up on these threads. At least the "can't hear them past the 240 loop" fallback is no longer in play.

I used to listen to 92.9. The whole crew really. As of a few months ago, I stopped listening. Their shtick just got old.

Side note: I really think there is something in the water in the city of Memphis that turns people into bad three point shooters. It seems like every single guy we get, college or pro, that is supposed to be a good shooter from long range, can't hit water if they fell out of a boat as soon as they put on a jersey with 'Memphis' on the front of it.

Watching the Alabama game it seemed like the Tide got a bunch of open looks on the perimeter (especially in the second half). D1 guys should be able to hit an open 3. We got some open looks, but most of the time they had a hand in our face.

A couple plays I can remember...1 is Jamal Johnson wide open by himself on the wing. He must have had a super slow release b/c an Alabama player came out of nowhere and blocked his shot. A pump fake would have worked (or quicker release). The second play we made the right pass to a wide open Rivers in the corner. He has to be able to punish teams for sagging like that. Instead he was scared to shoot the ball, barreled into the lane and got a charge.
