We do not know how long New Mexico State will be there, Grand Canyon is looking away, Chicago State is all messed up. Any of those schools can replace any of those four that leaves.
The Alaska schools aren't moving to Division I, they are not able to afford the move.
Western Washington makes sense with Seattle in the WAC, but I haven't seen much interest from them. Honestly WWU having dropped football probably has soured any ambition or support.
UCSD is holding out for the Big West. Being a UC system school, they probably don't want to be associated with Grand Canyon.
I think Azusa Pacific is in after Cal Baptist completes its transition, unless if the Big Sky gets tired of being at an odd number.
West Texas A&M does nothing for the WAC, and will hold out for the Southland.
I haven't seen anything about Colorado Mesa wanting to go Division I, but it would make sense for the Big Sky to give Northern Colorado a real travel partner.
Honestly if anyone other than Chicago State hits the exits, the WAC really needs to go after Southern Utah or Northern Colorado. The Big Sky would love to make one of them a football-only member.
There just aren't enough parts left for the WAC to sponsor FCS football now that North Dakota is headed to the MVFC. The Big West football affiliates aren't leaving the Big West.
