Astate wins 9-8 in 18. Guy who got the winning hit touched first and ran all the way to the right field wall before he was tackled

Stats from tonight's game:

Length: 6 hours 7 minutes

Pitches Thrown 621

Pitchers used 15 9 by Little Rock alone (I didn't honestly know they had that many)

Runners Left on base 30 (21 by AState)

Walks 19 (AState only walked 4 in 18 innings)

Errors 1

The point when Both teams twitter accounts jumped the shark: 17th inning

The ratio of drunk to sober fans by the time it finished 2:1

Games 3 and 4 of the series are scheduled for tomorrow. Both teams used the guy originally scheduled to start tomorrow, tonight, so lord knows who will pitch.

Tell me about it, we're 6-17 in our last 23. . . .

. . not the kind of ball you want to be playing down the stretch . .. .

I'm good if y'all want to make that 7 in a row by Saturday.

We'd love to help them accomplish that . . . But I'm not sure we have the pitching to pull it off, particularly if we have to go to our pen . . .

“You know a losing streak like this has to stop at some point,” Peddie said. “I don’t know if anyone can consider this a rivalry until we go out there and hold up our end of the deal."

ULM Coach Peddie agrees. Tonight will make 20 in a row against Cajuns, 11 game skid regular season.

I have to say this is getting out of hand. Baseball is a game where stuff happens that cause better teams to lose games. I like the wins, but I think its an aberration to the typical game of baseball.

12 hours after their marathon concluded, AState and Little Rock are set to play 18 more innings today. Warning, this may not be the prettiest thing ever considering all the top bullpen guys for both teams are used up.

I hear stAte has a bullpen set up inside the gate to check everyone's fast ball when we come in. Just make sure you are wearing a Red Wolf shirt.

App, App,
They're the man!
If they can't do it,
Then Bleh...

Come on Mountaineers. If Myrtle Beach can pull for Troy then Mobile can certainly pull for App!

I knew we'd drop at least one game to Troy. The series is never a sweep and both teams want to win the game badly. While the first USA vs Troy game doesn't count as a conference game they are 1-1 against each other on the year. This is where the Little Rock and Arkansas State disaster games hurt us in terms of the regular season title. The Jags at-large hopes might depend on a series win, so I hope our guys are super motivated tonight! Go Jags and Go Mountaineers!

Wow...losing to us has devolved into disaster status...that's sad.

We changed our pitching rotation that weekend. Our Saturday night guy pitched Friday and our Friday night guy pitched Saturday.

Our Friday night guy took care of business on Saturday but our Saturday night guy got pulled after 2.1 innings on Friday after giving up 4 hits, 2 walks, a hit by pitch and 7 runs. It got to 9-0 before the Jags woke up and scored a run. That said pitcher was pitching well in the games prior to that and subsequently we found he had an injury but was trying to play through it. I would qualify that as a disaster. We made it close at the end, but still lost 12-10.

Don't worry, your guy who came in with an ERA of over 16 and a WHIP near three and half dropped quite a bit off the ERA but left with the same WHIP. We just don't know how to get em around right now.

Yeah, but we took a 7-1 lead in the 5th, went to the pen, and you guys made it 7-6 pretty quick. We managed to "hang on" for that W last night . . .

We're 6-17 in our last 23. I still think you guys get "healthy" over the next two . .

It keeps getting worse. Without the Cajuns series early against St. Peters they would have a 33 RPI and an OOC RPI of #3. It's pretty amazing how much on three game series can affect your numbers, but I guess if your counting three games of an 0 for the season (about 0-100) you can't expect any better.
