It's pretty amazing how much on three game series can affect your numbers, but I guess if your counting three games of an 0 for the season (about 0-100) you can't expect any better.

I'm not doubting you, but where did this info come from? Boyd? I know he has interviewed many times on local radio in Mobile answering scenario-based questions on RPI.

Coastal beats App State 4-2 to take the series. Going for the sweep and the conference championship tomorrow. Go Chants!

Unless Troy wins tonight. If Troy wins tonight, Coastal takes the conference title.

Even with a 12-5 lead, wasn't certain til the end. Clinch the West Division Title.

USA takes the second game of the series with Troy. Our Friday night starter is sick and unavailable this weekend so we pitched our Sunday starter. Good news is it's a sickness and not an injury. Bad news for the Jags is that the reigning national player of the week catcher Jared Barnes broke a finger yesterday and will not be available for a month. So unless the Jags make it to the NCAA and advance pretty far we have probably seen his last game as a Jag, as he's expected to go fairly early in the MLB draft.

The Jags win game 2 against Troy 10-6. So, that tie game is starting to look pretty big now.

I hated to hear about Barnes. Not only will we lose his 13 home runs and .300+ BA, but he is a great defensive catcher (which is what is getting him drafted so high).

No ... the #33 RPI ranking was the hypothetical I calculated if Saint Peter's had gone 17-17-1 (.500 ball). Had the Cajuns not played Saint Peter's, their RPI ranking would be #36 (prior to Thursday's action) and their NC SOS would be #3. Overall SOS would be #33.

RE: SBC Baseball 5-18 to 5-20 Rivalry Weekend closes things out
We just ran out of gas in the last two weeks. Not having many options caught up to us. At one point this week, we went 24 consecutive innings without scoring a run.

It'd be nice to salvage something in Conway to reach 20 wins in year zero. Some people were saying we wouldn't win 10 games.

Take a look at this App team tomorrow because next year, it will look completely different.

I'm happy for you guys for the progress you've made and look forward to App getting better and in turn making the conference better. You don't have to wait until next year though. Go ahead and get it started tomorrow.

Just for fun, take a look at St Pete's schedule: not one single W on it. Unbelievable.
One just has to hope they keep it up for one more game tomorrow.....would be a crime if they spoil that perfect record.
