Great game. It was fun to throw the ball to kids that didn't really "want" to play. LOL.
Or when you were the "queer" smearing other kids who couldn't tackle you.

RE: Politically Correct Wusses Fail To Ban Dodgeball In Louisiana Public Schools
We played "combat basketball" on my buddies dirt basketball court. Basically it was an all out brawl combined with 21.
There were no fouls and there was a side scoring system (mockery) of sorts.
If you played weak, got knocked down frequently you were a Kenny G, John Tesh, Elton John, etc, etc...
If you came strong you were ranked as a hierarchy of death metal bands Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Obituary...
If you were reduced to Kenny G status you could work your way back up but you had to first reach Cinderella to Poison to Slayer, etc... status before moving on to the harder stuff.
LMAO... good memories.

You would throw the ball against the wall and someone would have to catch it on the fly or on the hop. If you mishandled the ball you had to sprint to the wall. The other kids would try to beat you to the wall with a throw to the wall. If they beat you, you had to "spread eagle" against the wall, where all the other kids would get a crack at hitting you with the ball.
Yup, we had the same game but we called it Eagle Ball.

When the balls were hard and one team had the balls, they would just take pot shots at the other team huddled. If they missed the ball usually bounced back to them. I loved it when it had thinned out and they were pinning our team on one side and I would get the only balls on the other side and sneak up behind them.

The game was frowned upon by the teachers heavily but we still played. They would break it up if someone got hurt.
I remember that game... that was a fun one
